02529, Brand the Barbarian

Hi everyone, This model is 02529, Brand the Barbarian sculpted by Bobby Jackson.

Conan is my entry for the "You're such a character" painting excuse contest. Like I'm mentioning in the contest topic, my goal was to paint him with the sun shining on his blood stained sword and sunburned skin. I used Spattered Crimson, Pumpkin Orange and Sun Yellow for the skin.

Sure, I used MSP Spattered Crimson for the base coat. Then, successive layers of Spattered Crimson / Pumpkin Orange, pure Pumpkin Orange and Pumpkin Orange / Sun Yellow. I didn't like the result so I glazed all over with Spattered Crimson, just enough so all the color will blend together without being completely covered up. I finally highlighted with Pumpkin Orange, Sun Yellow and Ivory. I also used Sun Yellow and Ivory glazing to blend colors on the sword.
