6 Red Box Games Figures from GROUP WIP

Hey friends, I haven't posted any completed pictures of figures in at least a month, but I've been busy working and doing WIP stuff in the GROUP Red Box Games thread. I decided to go ahead and post some 'finished' pictures. Included are (not sequentially):

 

1) Ingvar the Brash

2) Grim Garrett

3) The Bastard Hughbert

4) Shadowblade Reyviande

5) Bad Betty

6) Red Meghan

 

Reyviande, Betty and Meghan are going to be in a diorama that I bring to ReaperCon; these will all be there.

Great job.  Even Ugly Betty looks nice, in her own half-orc way.  I especially love the NMM work, and the hair and fur on Ingvar, but they all look really good.

Really nice work. I especially love the blue on the elf's cloak, and your leathers are just awesome (whoo! Brown is awesome!).

 

I look forward to the dio of which you speak.

 

My only nit is the snow on the norsedude's base (Ingvar? I'm not on a first-name basis with all of Tre's pieces...): it looks very clean, but it's clear it's been cleared from the space he's standing in. A little bit of mud would go a long way toward selling the environment, IMO. Just some dark brown washed up from the base of the snow clumps would do it, I think.

 

...and I have a pile of TreGobbos that need paint. I should do that...(and yes, I'll at least mention them in the group WiP...but you can tell by clicking the links in my sig just how good I am at keeping up with WiPs...)

Good idea on the snow/ice Adam, that's why I said 'finished' because there are elements of each that I want to work upon.

 

Dirtying up that part is just the idea I was looking for!

Thanks Tre, they're a pleasure to work on. I've got a slightly different take on painting figures, unbeknownst to me, which I've done a semi-thorough work up on in the WIP thread (featuring Grim Garrett). My methodology lets me set a color mood which is unique to each.

He's a lot of fun to paint like other Red Box figures because of the additions that Tre puts on the figures; bedrolls, pouches, waterskins, backpacks, and they're each individualized to that figures' flavor. 

 

I think at ReaperCon I'm going to bring all of the brigands from KS #5 and paint them up in tandem. Each with their own flavor and personality.

I love the subtle, understated colors on these.  They look marvelous, so lifelike!  And each one distinct.  It's a nice group.
