Kuro Cleanbrush
I've been hanging out in the WIP section too long and didn't even see the class announcement until today, but, yes, I am indeed teaching a few classes this year and simply cannot contain my excitement! I hope to see some of you in those classes, but even more than that, I just want to meet everyone and talk painting! So come say "Hi" to the crazy guy with the long hair and the headband (kinda like my avatar) if you see me walking around!
Reaperbryan
Tre Manor's classes have now been added to the schedule. No further classes will be added between now and April 15. Be aware that on April 15 we will be pulling down the option to order the lunches, and The week of ReaperCon (likely April 27) we will be turning off the ability to register for classes and buy a pass. DixonGrfx
Heads up gang. I may be swapping a class out to take one of the Tre Manor classes. If the swap gets approved I'll share the details.
DixonGrfx
Class swap approved! There is now one open seat in the Friday 4pm Derek Schubert : Painting Fur, Scales, & Feathers. Snatch it while you can!
Moderator OneBoot Posted April 11, 2015 Moderator Share Posted April 11, 2015 There is now a "Painting Black and White" class available on Thursday; I dropped it so I could take Kuro's blending class! I also added Ali Bailey's "Flesh and Faces" class because painting skin stumps me a lot. This brings me up to 7 classes total, which is 1 more than I had originally planned on, but I can't see any that I want to drop. I anticipate Bryan's 'converting Bones' class to be a little bit lighter than the other classes on my schedule, though; I'm really just taking that one because it sounds like so much fun! I thought walk-in class purchasing wouldn't be available this year...? Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
FireElemental
I thought walk-in class purchasing wouldn't be available this year...? They didn't hold any classes back, so people may not be able to walk-in and purchase them. But I don't remember seeing anything about them not selling walk-in classes if seats are still available. I think, ideally, they want all classes filled.

Reaperbryan
I thought walk-in class purchasing wouldn't be available this year...? They didn't hold any classes back, so people may not be able to walk-in and purchase them. But I don't remember seeing anything about them not selling walk-in classes if seats are still available. I think, ideally, they want all classes filled. This is correct. In previous years we would post online all but 2 seats, reserving those 2 for walk-ins. This had the side effect of creating hugely long and frustrating lines as people vied for the chance at maybe getting a seat for something, and being very frustrated when the first few people in line snagged all the 'good ones'. We decided this year to post everything online. Nothing is held back. However, any unsold seats (which there are still about 300*) will be available for purchase beginning the morning of the class (so Thursday classes on Thursday morning, etc.). Tickets for classes are still on sale until the 27th, so there remains time for people to secure some seating. **to compare, we traditionally held 192 seats (2 per class). For further comparison, last year only 490 total seats were available for all classes, with only ~300 available for pre-purchase. This year there were over 860 available, and we've pre-sold more class seats than we even offered last year.
Artists Wren Posted April 13, 2015 Artists Share Posted April 13, 2015 Bryan - if people want to return classes, I assume that would also go through registration and those seats would become available for another person to purchase the day of?
Reaperbryan
Bryan - if people want to return classes, I assume that would also go through registration and those seats would become available for another person to purchase the day of? Yes. Although it is BEST if they contact me as soon as they know they want to return the classes, so I can make them available now if possible. Also be aware that returns will NOT be allowed for classes less than an hour before that class begins, or any time after then. So a 4PM Friday class you cannot return at any time after 3PM Friday. We have to give people a chance to actually buy it, and to know it is there.
vutpakdi
The Registration desk volunteers especially would like to encourage the return of tickets for any classes that we'd like to take. Ron
Artists Wren Posted April 14, 2015 Artists Share Posted April 14, 2015 I'm more asking to have information to people who didn't get a particular class and would like to take their best shot at getting it. Thanks Bryan!
klarg1
The sheer number of tickets still available is wearing away at my resolve to keep a reasonable schedule. This wasn't a problem in past years, nearly everything I wanted was sold out!

This wasn't a problem in past years, nearly everything I wanted was sold out! I know how you feel. I don't want to overdue the class schedule. Last year by Sunday I was feeling burnt out a bit. And I want more time to visit with people, take the factory tour, talk to the artists, and perhaps do some gaming.
chaosscorpion
I have been resisting more classes by reviewing what games fit into the white spaces in my schedule.
