Digital M@
I don't want to know, M@. I have seen your work. I know when I see a happy brush. I know, you know what I am talking about, don't try to hide it.

pae
Well, I have to admit that at least one of my W&NS7 brushes has been touched by Liliana Troy. But that was just last week.

I know, you know what I am talking about, don't try to hide it. blefuscu, it does sound like badly made brushes. A well-made size 000...I don't even need to use them on some minis as they are so fine. Hopefully you can return them? I've been burned by mail order too and don't buy brushes I can't test first. Getting a bit frustrated with W&N myself; last time I bought brushes, out of the box of a dozen or so size 0s the store had, I found two I really liked. That hadn't happened before. Infusium Power Pac Intensive Treatment Conditioner! Works wonders on my hair, works just as well on my brushes (once every few painting sessions). I use castile soap to wash fine silks and some wools, so logically it shouldn't hurt brushes, though it can't do much to get out paint. I'd still replace the oils after using it. styates
I am about as novice at this as it gets, (I just started painting mini's again after about a 12 year hiatus before which I had no clue what I was doing) but I just happened to do some eye painting last night and I found that my 18/0 did a very nice job. I found that I could very easily paint in the whites to the size that I wanted and also make the pupils small enough that it did not overwhelm the whites. Of course, I was working on a frost giant, so the eyes are a little bigger than the standard figure, but I think it would work just as well on something smaller. The brush itself was nothing too expensive either I paid $3.84 plus shipping from the following site: http://www.craftsetc.com/Store/ShowProduct.aspx?p=278135 Hope that helps you out. blefuscu
styates - I am in the exact same situation as you -- I painted about 14 years ago for some out RPG, but the skill level was so low it's not even worth mentioning. I just picked up the mini painting bug a few months ago... and the addiction is frightening. Thanks for the tip. BTW Paintrix - Do you have a new site, or are you going to update http://www.wegotgame.net/jen/main.html? I'd love to see more of your work. I've only been getting back into this since December and I'm on here reading tips and looking at other people's work every day. I've stripped and prepped several of my old mini's and just started actual painting work on two of them, so all of this is REALLY new to me. As a matter of fact, I need to pay closer attention to my prep work as I just found a flash line that I missed on the leg of the giant that I'm working on that will need to be removed and redone. But I'm having fun learning. The tips and people on this board are invaluable for a beginner such as myself and I'm very glad to have found such a great place with people who share in my interests. Take it easy and good luck.
