Looking nice. Can't wait for the final outcome. Out of curiosity, are you going to paint the areas where the fabric touches the bed? From what it looks like, the fabric is extremely sheer and would make sense that it would show the color of the bed sheet where it touches the bed.

--- edit ---

Bed? Bench? I'm not sure what she's sleeping on. Cushions. XD

Thank you. I plan on completing her unless I throw her out the window first. But the cushion will be the same purple similar to a sheet set but where it overlaps the stone it will have to show gray which I did base in but it is hard to see in the photos. But I haven't worked much on the fabric other than the skin parts. I thought about making the bed sheet a different color but I think that would be too much to wrap my head around at this point.

Do you think it makes sense that the sheer purple ontop of another of the same color would behave like cloth normally with highlights and shadows?

I would think so, since the colors would overlap each other. I'm basing this all from the opacity option in Photoshop. If one layers low opacity pictures over each other, the dark colors darken and the bright colors lighten.

If anything, one could test out the theory by heading to a fabric store and picking a sheer cloth and folding it on itself. ^__^

Great start!  I'm looking forward to seeing this progress.

Then onto painting some cloth color. Since I used Burgundy Wine for her skin shadow I felt it would work for her cloth as well and Auberon's Dark Sword Sorceress inspired me to use purple. I mixed in a touch of pale violet and a tiny bit of linen white for the base coat and then took to blocking it in.

 Yay purple!

At this point I googled purple sheer lingerie to get a feel for how purple looks against the skin and took my basecoat and mixed it with fair skin. With a fairly thinned down paint I used this to cover the skin parts to make it look as if a layer of fabric was over it.

You don't need google. Just get your husband a sheer purple pirate shirt and make him model for you!  Or if you currently lack one or those you could dress up your pool boy instead.  ::D:

Sigh... why don't you ever hear about any pool girls.

Well I currently do not own a sheer pirate shirt of any color, but I do have some other sheer items not sure if they will fit him though. :;):

I think you are doing great!  higher highlights in the purple will see it better and cleaning up some of the blending will help but its starting to look pretty convincing.

ETA: I appreciate the shoutout.  really, its important to have the proper tools for a job :P
