All I am thinking with that expression and book at arms length is he has seen a "klatu, verata...<cough, cough>." And is worried about it happening to him.

I am thinking that he's -doing- a klatu, verata thing. :P Knowing the spell by heart, he's just channeling the black tome, which seems to have a mind of it's own. The pages rustle chaotically, as they are given life by the winds of magic. :D
