Raging Heroes: Dark Elves and Sisters

I was expecting to like the flesh eaters more but they look pretty tame compared to some of the stuff we have already seen.

Unicorn horses! One of which the rider looks like she is about to pee... Odd pose choice.

The worms look fantastic! I love that they look like three distinct creatures, not just the same critter in multiple poses.

However the riders just look terrible. I mean they look okay for what they are, nearly naked lust elves, but they don't have saddles, they just seem to be magically stuck on somewhere in the middle of the creatures. I can't imagine how they could possibly stay mounted.

The original concept art (and the art for Xehzirhya, mounted on a similarly sinuous creature) had visible saddles, the riders were mounted close to the heads and seemed to be somewhat in control of the mounts.

Whether these creatures move like snakes or caterpillars, it seems like there would be some serious motion and staying mounted would be very difficult even with a saddle. Without one it seems impossible. The original art gave the impression the heads stayed upright with little motion, the locomotion was likely to have been provided by the lower body, however that clearly isn't the case with the renders.

They might make for some nice creatures on their own, but I'd have to see the finished sculpt before I'd ever think of picking them up in case the riders are moulded to the worms.

I'm wondering if the riders can be swapped over from the Stingrays for the worms and vice versa, if they are molded...yikes.. I'm thinking of getting both anyway, since I have nothing like them in my collection and I would like to paint them, and since I don't really like the Vestral Riders much. The one thing I'm not fond of is the short weapons for the worm riders, I think I'll chop them off and make some scythes for them. It also looks like one of the riders is backwards on the worm. I think.

I kinda like the Flesh Eaters too, they look like some kind of horror from a Mad Max world or something. Their helms and weapons look cool. They're on my 'maybe' list.

I agree - Flesh Eaters without helmet would be an instand-buy.

Just going to point out, they are troops. Their previous troop offerings have more heads than bodies per kit, usually including several helmetless heads for units with closed masks.

Also I really like the masks

Yeah the helmets make them look more Mad Max and less Hellraiser.

I was hoping for cenobytes.

Still a ton of stuff I love so it won't be a problem spenidibg my money :D

Absolutely this. They were some of my favorites as cenobites, but less so as Mad Max elves. I imagine this is RH making them warhammery. I may still get them, but they've moved down to an optional buy from the must-have list they were previously on.

Pretty bummed about that update.

The chick playing a lute with fully armored hands was a bit silly. Maybe she has picks on the ends of her fingers? How much dex do you have with armored fingers?

Cash can you test that out :P

I like some of the harpies but with so many of these I don't want a full box since I won't paint more than one of them.

Some people are gonna have some amazing/sexy warhammer armies when this ships.

I'll be getting the harpies as they will be quite useful to have more than one for D&D games (as, well, harpies, or alternatively Erinyes devils). Otherwise I'm also kind of in the boat that for many of the troops I'd like to have one of the minis, but perhaps not a whole unit.
