I thought they were making their own game?

They said they are making their own game at some point. However they just happened to make troops that can replace all the females in Warhammer. I know a friend almost backed to replace his sisters of battle. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it guaranteed them more backers who had to buy a bunch of money to field out troops.

Even some of their large minis/sets can replace existing GW stuff.

They are planning their own game. Backers who wanted to replace their sisters of battle helped push the human sculpts. When the kickstarter started it focused more on the elves.

I like the void versions a bit better, but they were less cenobite in concept.

 

I like the mounted units, but the same armor on every horse sucks. I mean, you could carve off teh sculpted duplicate crests on every horse, but it's still pretty weak.

 

This one definitely seems to have slewed way towards GW style between the inception and completion. They were great about sticking to the vision the first time around. I won't cast any judgements until I have product in hand, but it's not the direction I have any interest in because I have a justified dislike of all things GW on both a personal and aesthetic level.

I'd so buy Lute Knight if she could be purchased separately, but I've got no interest in getting a whole set of knights as (IMO) they're another batch that have lost that special something during the transition from concept to render.

 

But now I've seen everything I'm interested in, I can make my final pledge list.

Agreed on lute knight. She is amazing! If only she weren't packed in with the others.

 

I kind of like the skinner hamlets better than the flesh eater ones, but I like the flesh eater bodies better.

Starting to get together a list...looking at the horse cav, they definitely dropped the ball on sculpting it. All the horses were in different armor in concept, now they're all the same. I wonder if the scope of this just got way to big for them.

Might have been due to complaints about the models of each groups not looking like the would fit as rank and file troops? At least I seem to recall some negative comments that the figures were not working well as units you would field together in a miniatures game as there was such a dramatic difference in poses and detail for each figure (of a given unit)?

 

At first I was sorta disappointed in the cav but after reviewing again I think they are pretty decent. Definitely some hard choices though to make when they get the pledge manager out...

Same here. As for the Beagle, the harpies are the only ones I know I'm getting for sure, everything else is kind of a blur (not really in a negative way, most of the stuff look quite awesome, I just don't really know what I want).

 

BTW, were the big fantasy monsters, the manticore and the hydra, unlocked during the campaign? I seem to have forgotten if they are available or not.

Hello stranger.

 

Some of the bigger models were released and some were missed (chariot, war altar, giant drider and war pulpit were unlocked).
