Gabbi
Hi, I would love to see how others approached the "partial painting" required by translucent bones miniatures. Just a wash? Just some opaque highlights? Some of both? Please show me what you did! :)
Laoke
I paint the Translucent figures using the Tamiya Clear translucent paints. It's a really quick and easy way to add definition while keeping the figures translucent. Bones II to date - mainly test pieces http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/60048-gelatinous-cube-77305-translucent-slimes-77306-shadow-77369-crystal-golem-77309-ice-wall-77312-bones-ii/ Bones I from my old consolidated show off thread. You'll have to hunt for them but they're all in there. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/49165-laokes-bones-an-ongoing-journal-of-how-not-to-do-it-painting/ Edited March 14, 2015 by Laoke
Marineal
I used inks on some and paint on others. I put the links down here! The ones that link to my blog link there because of nudity, so be warned. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/58789-flesh-golem-female-dwarf-and-bones-ghost/ https://pewterresinandmagic.wordpress.com/2015/01/18/jabberwocky/ https://pewterresinandmagic.wordpress.com/2015/01/06/last-for-the-night/
Gabbi
Nice paintjobs, thanks for posting them. I especially like how you highlighted fire. Maybe I'll try something similar to paint white hilights on Bones II water elemental rising from the well.
