Wyrd Miniatures Ice Golem and Ice Gamin

Recommended Posts

I had originally started painting a chibi wizard for the Resolutionary Painting challenge.  He is turning out better than I expected so I want to spend extra time on him and do some extra shading and highlighting.  Due to the month being super effeicient at taking up my free time I don't think I will be able to finish him and 3 others to keep up with the challenge so I am going to put him off for a while.  Instead I am going to paint up the Ice Golem and Ice Gamins from the Children of December crew I bought a couple years ago.  They should be easier (famous last words!) to finish by the end of the month.

Here is what I have got so far.  The colors I am using are:

Basecoat - 29814 - Ice Blue

Shade/Wash - Citadel Drakenhof Nightshade

Highlights will be 09021 - Snow Shadow and 09063 - Ghost White

The gamin already have the wash applied.  The golem still needs the basecoat finished.

Brrr Cold.I mean Cool.

Nice going, love to see these done.

You will base them accordingly on a base made out of Lava and put some melted Gamins on that?

Thanks everyone.  The golem is the reason I bought the set.  I saw the set on the shelf at the FLGS and thought the golem looked awesome and would fun to paint.  I have been meaning to start playing Malifaux ever since I bought these.  We moved across town shortly after I got them and they stayed packed in a box.  I had forgotten about them until recently when I reorganized all the boxes of my miniatures.

Hi there all, I've decided to dive into the deep end with finally trying the scary world of OSL. 😄

Feel I've lost the plot on this ... so any advice on how to proceed with this would be greatly appreciated! (Having fun, though, despite not knowing what the hell I'm doing. 😁)

I'm including a "top down" view, which is where I'm most confuddled. That dark line down his arm which represents the shadow from the staff which sits between the source of light ... it just doesn't look right to me.  🤔

So, I'm all ears for suggestions on improvements!

Not sure what to do with those bodies in webs on the slot. Need to go back and look at the pics to see if I should cut them or see if I have a spare slotta base to stand them up.

      Hello

This is my first post really on forums.  I normally post on Facebook. My wife and I paint models alot of the time side by side. Whilst I prep our quarterly contest entry we worked on these Storm Giants...  About half way done.

Most of these aren't up to date and I've changed bits of them here and there since these, I'll be saving those shots for the finished product, but hopefully you enjoy the journey.
