CAVs have historically been represented as slightly more bound by real-world physics than Battlemechs. The CAV novel Heavy Words has a character with the callsign "Jumper", earned after he crippled his CAV by jumping into a canyon during a simulation.

YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND!

Not finding the novel on Amazon... any idea?

I may design one:

The new Razor-H is a light framed CAV with new built in Jump jets. This allows the CAV to scale 3 or 4 elevations. The unfortunate side effect is the new Razor-H is almost completely vulnerable to all forms of attack. Although it is a tender CAV, hit and run/hide is the forte of this new design...

Well there goes my imagination again. LOL.

So I think I missed this in my first read through, what kind of elevation changes impede CAV movement?  The hill's I've been making are all about 3/4" elevations, can a CAV just walk over this?

A vertical building.

And just so we don't accidentally get down a wrong strange path, my latest post is all imaginative: I picture a battle in the city where my made up Razor-H is able to hop up onto a building to get a line of side (or something else where that elevation would be important) and fire then run away. Etc etc... :)

Just having fun in my own little world in my head!

Why yes, custom house rules are always fun.  Go nuts.

I was looking through my 2016 pics of completed minis and came across this dynamic duo which I painted up this year as a pitch hit for the 2015 Fall exchange.

I figured I would post them for fun.

      First is the 77257: Chimera

and while waiting for paint top dry the  on the Chimera I did  77259: Fly Demon

They are bit glossy as the light was bright and the matt spray not quite dry I think.

Here's another critter. It's 77259: Fly Demon by Kevin Williams.

I wanted a metallic effect to the blue, which I got, but the end result isn't quite as successful as I would have liked. The miniature would benefit from having its wings replaced with much thinner acetate ones, but of course that would be a lot more fragile. It could also do with a bit more detail modelled into its limbs, to bring out the insectoid articulation a bit more.

All in all, not one of my better efforts, but it will just have to do now.

      Hello all!
Finished the base for my take on Cichastus, so he is ready for display....
      (WIP)

He isn't glued down to the flying base post yet... the neckid base

      As always C&C welcome!
      George

      Edit
Adding some new pics with a good camera and good lighting...

      Without the base

      Just the base

Easier to see the colors now...

So I was at Walgreen's picking up a prescription for my geriatric beagle's bladder, and I saw a pack of awful green plastic soldiers.  Fortunately, there were two awful plastic tanks in there and at $4 for the whole pack you can't get even close to that price per tank if you're buying gaming figures.

      Then this happened:

As it does not appear that this will be painted until I get the accompanying army assembled and primed, I shall happily entertain suggestions for more greeblies and what else it needs to have done to it.
