Again, an entry for a painting league at another forum.
Susie and the Snow Goons! RUN!
In homage and reference to the seminal comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. Here we have Calvin's instantly recognizable wierd snowmen, and Susie, his neighbor/friend/schoolmate and part-time nemesis in addition to Calvin and Hobbes themselves.
Search for Calvin & Hobbes. You will not regret it.

We're walking in the air (...)
Suddenly swooping low
On an ocean deep
Rousing up a mighty monster from his sleep
And walking in the air
We're dancing in the midnight sky ...
(from The Snowman, 1982)
I used Warlord Games WGS-STG-10 Melting Snow for the snow on the bases.

Short Wart's Cohort Mort
Being a band of bony retribution soon to cross the Brandywine and come a-knocking on little round doors under the hills.
Most of these skeleton minis are from the same second hand purchase where I got the zombies that were featured a few week ago. I got the incomplete undead mammoth off Ebay several years ago, and Short Wart himself is an Oathsworn Halfling Necromancer. All minis have been given 3D printed bases, most of them 25mm.
There are a lot of pics beneath, although some are distictly unfocussed, as if a dark power did not wish to be documented...

Took me long enough to sculpt, then paint, then photograph this fella, but here he is at long last! The ape-armed brute, the mook, the Fall Guy, the smash-and-grab man with the cauliflower ears and the broken nose. Made with the crowbar from EL DIABLO.
What's his name?
Puddin' Tame.
Ask him again, he'll tell you the same.
More angles:
"Whoof, finally got that safe down. Gutman better find something good in here; dat weren't easy."
"Whoa whoa whoa fellas! This ain't what it looks like, and I admit it sure LOOKS...not real great."
Let's also celebrate the real hero of this picaresque narrative, the shipping container! I need to get a second one and see just how far I can push the rust effects. Also need to airbrush some graffiti on there.

Yet another of my entries in a painting league on another forum
Pride and Joy
A nice walk in the park for the Lovecrafts.
Sorry about the pics being a bit blurry, I am still struggling with the camera. It seems it is not meant for such small items.
Most of the miniatures are from a recent 2019 kickstarter by Bear's Head Miniatures, apart from the large Star Spawn that is from the game Cthulhu Wars by Petersen Games. One of the kickstarters for that game had an option for one each of the miniatures extra, and this one is from that set. I hacked off the moulded base it originally came with so I could have similar style bases for the whole family.
Lots of pics and such below, go on, you know you want to click it:

I rescued Bonnie and Max from the box of goodwill and made them ready for table use, sharing a simplified palette of colors: blue, tan, green, and orange. Max got a weapon swap, and some resculpting of the left arm because it was so much larger than the right it looked like it came off a different figure. I reposed Bonnie slightly more upright than her original position. They are both on CMON/Microarts graveyard bases.
Max pulled his collar up against the wind and puled his old college scarf closer around his neck. "Come on Bonnie, there's nothing out here."
"I heard something over there," Bonnie replied.
"It's a cat. I don't think we need to worry about it. "
