I really do love the detail that you cram into the updates. Seeing the way the fox head came together was really illuminating for somebody who really doesn't know too much about the sculpting process. I'm continually amazed at how quickly you're able to put together these little works of art!

So what will shipping be like for this? I'd really like to get in on this but I can't find what the shipping to the US will be.

It's annoying, but Kickstarter have changed the way the shipping shows up. You basically have to click 'Pledge' to see it. You can just 'x' the pledge box if you don't want to proceed, so it's not a massive problem, but it does make things a little more complicated. I wish they'd just left it alone...

I believe I was charged £8 for shipping to the US.

[ADDED: Yup.  Total pledge was £78]

...and Thank you for answering that Qwyksilver!

A sculpting tutorial inside a KS Update? Why not?

You sir, are awesome. Thank you.

Thanks - I'm glad people like them. They take blinkin' ages to do...

What I've found is that it takes about three times as long to sculpt while taking step-by-step photos... the fox head was very close to being ruined, as the putty was almost cured by the time I got to the last part! That was a nervous few minutes, I can tell you.

Shouldn't that female fox have 4 pairs of teats?

Technically yes, but...

I'm pretty sure that was discussed in the sculpting thread at some point and the consensus seemed to be people preferring just two.

...this.  Basically, it works better with two. Yes, it's not realistic, but then you don't see foxes wearing armour and carrying weapons either, so I'm not going to worry too much about the realism.  :;):

It's quite easy to explain and udderly fascinating...

The reptilian females got their mammaries by stealing the extra pairs of dugs from the anthropomorphic mammalian females.  Now almost everyone has just two.

Or go for the scientific explanation,

only breasts used to feed cubs develop (as people who've had dogs with puppies know), and anthropomorphic animals tend to only use the top pair as they are at the right pup holding height

so what we're seeing as 'female' is actually females who have had pups, and what we see as 'male' (without any obvious other cues) are a mix of males and childless females

Six If I recall correctly

Because we like to put more human aspects into things. It pleases the eyes and the mind better. The more like us something is, the more we relate to it, until it steps into the Uncanny Valley.
