Also, Seagulls are almost universally hated.  ;)

What I don't understand is why in a place with seagull flying around all over the place, people will park their convertibles with the roof down. Does it have a poop repelling force field? Do they think they're sooooo special that the sky-rats won't poop in their car?  :rolleyes: Peoples, I tell you what.

 

It's a little bit of an obsession I admit, they were 'my' race back in the Warhammer days and compared to other fantasy races they're just not done well or in abundance (too many humans in cowls with bows).

It's okay, I understand your obsession too. At least so far as anytime I'm posting on a thread with a talented sculptor my Hubby wants me to badger them about making awesome draconians. And, you know, I'm not terribly willing to make all of the awesome sculptors here hate me because I keep badgering them about awesome draconians.

 

 

Also, dwarf queen. Just sayin'  :poke:

So, I don't have my minis.  :down:

 

Nothing to fault the excellent service of Oathsworn, but I will have to drop a line to Lovejoy about the minis being returned to him.

 

It also has nothing to do with Customs, this time. So what follows is just a rant to get this off my chest, because I am seriously p**sed off right now.

 

For some unknown reason, my bank cancelled my debit card, that allows me access into the ATM and associated services. Associated services include the online banking system and payment system here. I am, then, unable to access my account, do transfers or payment unless I go physically to the bank (and who does that anymore?). This happened last week, the bank has no idea what happened or why, but I am cut off my money anyway without "user" in the banking system.

 

To be able to retrieve the package, I need to pay a Customs fee for importation. Of course, the whole Customs system runs on the Tax Authority website which is linked (because I am a good taxpayer), you can probably guess it now, directly into my bank account for payments. So when I generate the payment order for the fee, I cannot pay it because I can't log into the online banking system.

 

When trying to pay it physically, the "report" the system generates is not good enough for the cashier because it lacks code bars or valid references (it is just an internal proof that it was sent to my online banking payment system webpage).

 

So. Now I have a package accruing storage fees at Customs since, apparently, July 8th. I have no way of paying the 10 USD fee owed on it. I have no access to my money, and am leaving on vacations, abroad, this weekend. Since I will return to Argentina after the 30-day period has lapsed, the package should be sent back to the UK. Since the shipping-back thing to UK is not free, it will probably get destroyed here by Customs instead   :down:  :down:

 

I am in no way holding Oathsworn responsible for this. I am so close of crime right now  ::(:

That is just awful Willen.  I'd be at the bank flipping out!

I'd just go there and stay until they fixed everything....then I'd likely cancel my account there due to their incompetence....

 

I wanted to do that. So badly...

 

But I also have tons of work that needs to be done for LAST WEEK ffs, and then also the OMG this is urgent right now! problems, because when one thing happens, all of it happens at the same time. I've out of the forum these last weeks on that and honestly, I am starting to understand what the deal with work stress is about. 

 

Failsafe for cards is that you need the physical card to unlock the account. They don't have it so I don't know what can be done TBH. I am of course considering cancelling my account there; I have a nice benefit package (and got their Cards Manager involved in my case by pulling strings) but I am very tempting to take the package to another bank and whomever can match it can get my money  <_<

Where are you going? it might be easier to ship it to your travel location and go from there. 

 

I will say that you, more than anyone else (except maybe our Brazilian plants) make me appreciate the US postal and customs service.  Pretty much the only package that just doesn't wind up on your doorstep automatically with no tariffs or dues is something from Cuba, and even that may change.

 

Brazil imports are relatively easy, just expensive.  there are 5 forms to fill out and a 75% tariff on everything, unless you choose expedited import.  For an additional 50% you eliminate all but one short form.   

 

I once had a box of 10 bottles of single malt scotch mailed to my house with the customs forms all properly filled out.  No tariff, no taxes just lands on my doorstep. (also the only time the mailman came back to my house after work pleading to try one of the bottles... )

Patience, dear lady, patience...  actually, I'd just forgotten all about sculpting a dwarf queen, to be honest!  :blush:

 

 The one issue I'm seeing with seagulls is that they're relatively huge compared to most of the other animals that are being sculpted.

A bluejay might work better, size-wise.

You're right, gulls are big - probably too big to do in numbers really. And I'm still panicking over whether or not to allow birds to hold weapons or not... I've got a couple of ideas, but I think I'll need to actually sculpt them to see if they work.

 

So, I don't have my minis.  :down:  etc....

That's not good - we'll keep an eye out here for them coming back; then we can sort out re-sending them or something... 

I hope you get the banking thing sorted, it must be really difficult not being able to access your money. 

 

I hope at least you get it sorted in time to enjoy your vacation!

I won't ask Lovejoy to re-send them, it would be extra cost on them. When I get back from vacation, if the situation is sorted out, I will ask if the package is still in their custody or if they disposed of it already. Perhaps it is still there and I could still get it out with a fine or something.

 

I am going to Costa Rica, btw. Without company phone, and the wife is adamant I also leave the office computer behind.

 

@Lovejoy, thanks man, totally not your fault so I was just venting. One day, I will actually own some of your minis! I promise!
