Can anyone offer advice on the following?

How many zombie do you need to play Zombicide?  If I went and bought the base game now would I find myself running out of zombies a lot?

I ask because of scattered comments out there claiming you need all the Kickstarter stretch goal zombies to play, and complaints that in this project there aren't enough zombies being added, and too many survivors.

Thoughts from the experienced?

Thank you in advance!

If you run out of zombies...bad things are going down.

The base box has 'enough', provided players actively work to keep numbers down. Now what happen if you run a SPECIFIC type of zombie miniature is out is all zombies of that type get an extra activation IIRC when that type of zombie should be spawned. This can be very detrimental when there are a ton of walkers or runners near the Players whose plans were counting on the zombies NOT getting to them for another round. But on the other hand, many times it would be easier on the players for an abomination to get one more activation rather than a SECOND abomination to be placed.

If players sit and siphon the search deck or waste time in other ways, having bottomless supplies of zombies means in game plans are harder for the "AI" to disrupt. Also more zombies mean it's easier for players to get more XP. While XP is a double edged sword, those late game abilities are FUUUN.

More survivors add replayability as players will rarely have to play the same character. Just as long as the extra survivors don't have grossly overpowered starting abilities. (I think the +1 damage abilities at start were pretty egregious IIRC)

BTW did the company make any promises to make sure the wolves are actually attached to their bases? Those pegs the dogz were on are ugly.

Agreed. I have t done anything with mine yet but I plan to glue them to new "postless" bases.

OK, I'm digging the ginormous party option of 7-12 survivors. I can't stress enough how much of a buzzkill all these games with hard limits of 4-5 players. Few things are annoying as having to play a different game because a game handles X players and X+1 friends showed up.

I gave up on Cthulhu Wars KSbecause the limit of 5 players, but then after it closed  ::(:  they upgraded it to add more players  .

I wish they were selling some of these sculpts in resin or even metal...

I think this is what's holding me back at the moment.....all the renders and sculpts look great, but from previous zombicide miniatures there will be no fine detail and most of the intricate detail on them will become soft blobs.

As zombicide is my only modern zombie game it doesn't matter, but I have loads of fantasy miniatures that the final product of these won't be able to stand up to.
