Zombicide: Black Plague

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I don't feel like digging through 18 pages of posts. Have they put up any pictures of actual sculpts of the heroes anywhere? I'm still a bit on the fence on this one, and I like to have as much information as possible when making  a decision.

Oh those doors are tempting! I just hope they use a durable flexible plastic so the pegs don't break off easily.

Yes very tempting! I could use some of these!

They can even be openend and closed .. and 27 of them for $18 isn't a bad price at all! ^_^

Thanks very much to the zombicide players who have answered questions here.  I have a follow up.  I have seen it asked on the internet but the answers never quite give me all I need to know.

Which season to buy?  Granted, season two and three add new rules and new zombies and "zombivors," -- but if you want to play season two and three with the simpler season one rules, can't you just do that?  The rules for them all are on the official website.  But I have also read that season three "needs" the angry neighbors expansion in order to function fully.

I was thinking of getting season two or three and just learning to play with the simpler season one rules.  Are the components (cards for instance) backwards compatible?

I have space issues and money issues and can't really see myself buying all the sets and expansions and extras and stuff.

(To keep this on-topic, if I play the original game then if will help me decide if I want to back this one, which looks much more complicated to me.)

Thanks for your help!  I appreciate it.

The same basic types (walker, runner, fattie, abomb) are in each season. It's simple enough to run season 1 stuff that way. You would just need to create your own scenarios or use the map set ups for whatever season you have.

Space wise if you are not attached to the boxes you can compress them down rather well into some cases. I have all of the box sets and most of the extra survivors (except the season 1 survivors) in two "Plano Two Level Satchel Tackle Box"  They are 16.9 x 12.2 x 5.1 inches. You have to take a dremel to them to get the tiles to fit but it works fine.

Does using the app bother you at all? What I'd suggest is getting season 2 plus the season 1 tile set. The app has all the cards and dashboards (you have to proxy the survivors with the season 2 minis) for season 1 for free and if you treat all the special zombies from season 2 as standard for season 1 games you'll have more than enough zombies. The only other thing you'd need to do is download the season 1 rule book and you'd have both season 1 and 2 for slightly more than just buying one of them.

Thanks for the replies!

I don't know if using an app would bother me -- I don't have a phone device.

Does it itch?

Z:BP isn't going to be all that complicated. It actually fixes some gameplay complaints players had with the original game (see BoardGameGeek).

My two bit is that if you can wait and are on a budget, back the $100 level. If a Zombicide game shows up on sale, buy it.

I keep looking at the Karl kopinski box and thinking about getting it for that female fighter, and then I just looked at the sculpts. Umm.. That is not the same mini at all. I'm usually not one to complain about art changes, but we go from a woman drawing her sword somewhat in surprise, to a woman smirking as she wields her pole arm. I don't mind having women with pole arms, but that is not the same woman as advise ised on the front of the box.

If I wasn't on my phone is provide photos of what I mean.

I'm sorry but I'm not seeing it. In the artwork she's wielding a pole-arm too, though her stance seems a bit different (and the pole shaft shorter and bulkier) in the sculpt preview.

Only in the smaller image does it look like she's drawing her sword, but here also you can see the sword handle sticking up.

I missed the halberd in the cropped picture.

But she still seems to be too much cloth, not enough armor.. and the pose seems off... maybe seeing it from the same angle as the picture would make me feel better about it.

I see what you're saying. Maybe if the mini gets a nice coat of paint and some new angles it will look better. So many of these minis don't quite live up to the source art (while some are better). Out of all of the iffy minis I think Alehissa is one of the better ones. She has full armor and a large "not-sword". I think she's cool.

I'm still not getting any artist boxes. We have plenty heroes and Bones III has my options budget tied up. I'll pickup the NPC zombie box because 20 additional enemies for $20 is an excellent bargain.
