Expansion pack? The game isn't even out yet. That seems a little bit presumptuous.

KS is not a store. It's pretty common for a game designer's original game to have more content than the publisher thinks should be in a base game. Any content that requires more rules (eg. werewolves, alternate character races) go into the expansion. Funding the expansion at the same time as the base game reduces publishing (and shipping) costs.

< 23 hrs... And I won't be home for the EB madness

It will be over in but a few moments, you'll not miss much.

Yeah. Plus I'm sure that during the run there will be enough dropped EBs for me to pick one up later. Like I worked myself up from EB10 to EB1 during the Bones II KS ::D:

At this point, CMON really shouldn't bother with early bird pledges considering that they fund in minutes, but I am guessing they will have a 100 slots or so.  At least they aren't silly like they were in Cthulu Wars where people were paying upwards of $50 less than others simply based on when they pledged (and I have heard even bigger numbers).  Though at this point, I don't know why they use Kickstarter.  They should just run pre-orders with the same model off their own site.  The numbers may be down a bit, but no need to give KS money at this point in the game.

This may be my first venture into Zombicide as the theme actually appeals to me.

No kidding. The difference between an EB Mine Cart and a late Mine Cart in 'Shadows over Brimstone' was $150.

The CMoN EB's now are usually only $5 or $10 off, so it's more a prestige thing ::):

From a marketing and PR perspective, a Kickstarter still is infinitely more likely to garner somewhat to very mainstream media attention than a CMON pre-sale. CMON Kickstarters have been all over the place and on very prominent sites (e.g. Wired, CNN Money) in the past. The most "mainstream" a CMON pre-sale could hope for would be, if I were to hazard a guess, Kotaku. And that'd be with a cool new video games related project, not with Cash Cow 4: Milk It Harder.

I've never played Zombicide and don't own any of the other games, but I've got to admit this one has my attention. The shipping costs Blood Rage ended up having makes me kind of hesitant though. Hmmm.
