This look like fun on a bun... but all my summer kickstarter moneys are belong to Reaper.

The fantasy setting is right up my alley. I'll probably have to make another will save before the end. Does anybody know if the gameplay is easy enough for a 13 year old to learn? If so it might be a family game option for the kids.

We had a dyslexic 12 year old play with us when we demoed Zombicide at a store opening. The co-op nature of the game means if you plan as a group you are more likely to succeed. It has more to do with whether they'll run off on their own or not than rules complications.

I have had a 12 year old play a game with us before. The group was two adults that had played a few times each, one adult that had never heard of the game, and the pre-teen. Game went well enough. I would say it is definitely possible with continued exposure, especially with people that know how to play.

ETA: This was the base Zombicide 1 game.

Ash + Evil Ash from Army of Darkness and Vlad Tepes from the opening of the film Bram Stokers Dracula has sold this one for me.

King Arthur from Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a nice fun sculpt.

Nice to see a couple of female warriors, Lady Grimm and Genevieve, properly decked out for combat as well.

So this is a minimum of a $100 to get into? How much is this game supposed to be at retail? What kind off reputation do these guys have on delivering Kickstarter projects?

They have released many iterations of Zombicide previously in the modern setting. I wouldn't even consider it a risk really that they wouldn't fullfill. The straight up standard box of the original game with no bonuses or extras is 70ish dollars.

Waiting for retail is definitely an option if you're not into the free bees.

I really like the new dashboards, I don't know if/where they lifted the idea, but it's a good one. Looking forward to seeing that concept expanded, GG has done a pretty good job over the years of growing the brand in a pretty smart way. So many QoL add-ons were available in the last KS.

They had some issues with a container for the last KS, but other than unavoidable things like that the CMoN/GG partnership has been solidly delivering things for years now.

That Abominotaur is just a great, scary addition to the game. Great looking savage model and pretty horrific rules (it bashes down walls...allowing zombies to pour in from new angles).

I might make this one the KS I back, given how wildly successful Zombicide is at home.

For our household, Zombicide is the game even the girlfriends / wifes who hate "freaky" stuff play, and enjoy. They actually WANT to play it, and it's been a gateway to have them join more of our tabletop games. They are pushing me to paint "their" characters first (they more or less settled into playing the same characters and we allow them because, well, they are playing with US!), so I think the game is a great success in being simple, collaborative, immersive and fun. And angsty at times too, which is very cool.

We also play with my daughter (just 11, she played since she was 10), she is an expert on this game. With us is always (and gets sad when we play without him) my 8yo nephew, who grasps the rules just fine and relays on us for complex options, but is learning to develop strategies and synergies with the adults as well. Right now, my 5yo niece is watching us play too, rolling dice and playing along her mum, interested by the "ugly zombies".

So yeah, it is a very good family game IMHO.

Is this just an expansion, would I have to buy another core set or can this be played as offered? The mini's look good, and it looks like an interesting game but if I spend a $150 and have to buy a core set on top of it I don't know if it's worth it, based on how much play I'm likely to get out of it.
