Popular Post revloc8
My second Bones 2 painted. It's not totally done as I need to add basing materials, but it's close enough. This was a ton of fun to paint, and I've got 7 more like him... it's gonna be a great week! Yes, I realize I missed that massive mold line right across his forehead, but I figured I'd just be sure to get it for the remaining 7 :D Colors are: I "primed" with Nightmare Black...this is my go-to for starting most minis as I have a ton of it, and I think it makes me look more creatively at figures as opposed to black, white, or grey. Skin was based with Pumpkin Orange because reasons. I then added some Muddy Brown to the orange for shadows, washed everything with a Muddy Pumpkin mix, and then highlighted with Pumpkin Orange gradually adding more and more Palomino Gold. The red is Crimson Red base-coated followed by shadows with Walnut Brown and highlighted with Gory Red. The browns are just a mish-mash of whatever browns I grabbed first. There are maybe 5 or 6 browns in there, but I don't know which... which is typical of how I do leather. Feedback, comments, and criticism are welcome.

revloc8
Finally got around to taking a decent pic of the base...sorry, I dont get much more exciting than this for my bases. I've only been painting a year and am trying to stay focused on improving my painting because I've seen what the basing madness can do to people--green stuff, toothpicks, re-purposing little odd fiddly bits, turning sporks into scenery... it aint pretty. I'm sure I'll eventually fall victim, but I'm staying strong for now...

Darcstaar
Great job on the bugbear. I'm even more impressed by the base. One of the better treatments I've seen. Usually, Bones bases fall into one of two categories: cut it off, or just drybrush it. You elevated the typical treatment.
Pochi
He looks really good and the base is cool. I love your use of red on him.
