2015 Reapercon In Review

Recommended Posts

Or maybe just be a big blob of Con Crud.  That would be a tough one to do and not leave a sticky mess everywhere you sat/walked/touched.

Four days in and I can at least open my eyes again. I said flubber yesterday and just stayed in bed and slept/recovered. I think that helped me a lot. I should be better by mothers day.

Well the good thing about getting sick is that I get to stay home and paint!!!!

That's the way to look at the bright side!

Other than the general exhaustion from staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning the whole time, no crud here. This however has not facilitated my unpacking.

I have only unpacked enough to do show and tell with my family, at least 50% of the stuff is still in my bag.

Is that the 50% that you aren't telling your family about?

Need some hand sanitizer and Lysol spray in the swag bags next year.

Maybe that is what has helped me a bit.  I carry a small bottle in me right pocket and use it after touching things others have handled or even before I handle them at times.  When shaking hands I try not to pull the bottle out and use it right then in front of the person.

I wash my hands before eating, before and after using the restroom, and had fruits for vitamin. ^__^

Those little bottles don't help against airborne viruses, but I can see them helping if you shake hands a lot and that person has been sneezing/coughing into their hands and haven't washed very much.

Lots of fresh fruits and veggies, drink lots of water, and wash hands. Works for me.

Oh yeah, having a CON score of 19 is pretty handy, too.

See, every morning I had large amounts of fruit for breakfast, walked around with antibacterial stuff and kept my hands washed frequently. I made it til Monday night before I came down with something and the Mr lasted til about Saturday night.

You can blame the mister for your illness. XD

Surprisingly mine is a different strain than his. He's lost his voice, sore throat, coughing, runny nose, weakness while mine is body aches, light sensitivity, sneezing, congestion, fever, sweats and weakness.

Basically my throat is fine. No kissing for him!

Maybe not staying at the hotel saved me.  No clue.  I felt a little off yesterday but that was after I found out my friend up here at the office was not coming in due to strep throat.  My brain started going "hey you went to lunch with him. hey you were over at his desk working on a problem.  hey you touched his coffee cup (but did not drink from it)."  Today I feel great so yeah it was all in my head.

So neat byproduct of entering your minis into the ReaperCon Master Series Paint Contest is that they take really nice photos of your minis.

Did these a few years ago but I've never entered before and they were one of the few painted pieces I inadvertently brought to the con. Several of the other forumites strong armed me into entering and I'm glad they did.

These guys did suffer from the "Hey this is Gloss sealer, not Matte!" but other than that I'm still pretty proud of them.

Figured after ShadowRaven's adventures last year it would be a good idea to post. If you were traveling or know of forumites who made it home in one piece feel free to post.

I got home without incident 45 minutes ago.

      FREE TO A GOOD HOME!

So I have a bit of a problem, and I'm hoping my friends at the con can help me take care of the problem. I love to buy the Chessex pound-o-dice. I love them so much I have several pounds of dice that never get used. Way back some forumites mentioned that they did not realize dice collecting is a thing so I thought I could share the wealth.

      If your collection is lacking,
If you are new to all this,
If you just want to say "I got a die from Ludo" (Sorry no ribbon for that this year.)

Come find me at the con. I'm pretty easy to find, 6'2" with a black bowler hat. If I'm not in class or playing CAV I'm at the table with Loim and all his basing moss.

So... I've finally gotten started on the ReaperCon theme entry for 2015. This is where we are and well... It's a mess. LOL! I've got quite a bit of work to do, not including painting. This project is largely experimental and we'll have to see where it goes.... Hmmm....
