My drive wasn't uneventful. Whenever I come to Texas someone tries to vehicularly homicide me. I had a grey Hyundai try to merge into me twice before I got out of Denton.

This. :zombie: I had a black sports car that very nearly side-swiped me earlier today trying to be fancy with a merging lane due to road work. Woulda hit me, too, if I hadn't swerved violently at the last moment. Thank heavens there wasn't a car in the lane right next to me at the time. :zombie:

Safely arrived at my brother's place about 12 hours ago, have been having a most pleasant time catching up with him and his wife and my adorable 4 month-old niece since. ^_^

My flights homeward start at 6pm tomorrow (today, now), and I'm praying for two smooth, boring flights (got a brief layover in St. Paul)!

Huzzah!

The trip home BLEW. Starting with checking in for our flight Sunday night, and continued until I went to bed Monday night.  We made it home safe, but is was a frustrating trip home, including the TSA's violation of my suitcase for the second year in a row.  Last year they chipped and bent minis  when they dumped a fig case and they didn't bother to put them back in, and damaged my suitcase.  This year stuff is missing from the suitcase.  I now need to call DAL TSA office to inquire about the missing items and fill out a claim.

Got home safe and sound around 1am this morning.  Two freeway closing accidents on Monday's part of the drive slowed me down 2 hours at least.  And I could feel my throat getting worse the whole way back.  Looks like I brought something besides awesome stuff back to Michigan. But even so, well worth the trip and hope to see you all next year again.  Sorry for not saying goodbye to everyone one, but I wanted to get on the road as soon as I could after the auction to get miles behind me.

In part why I drive, even though it takes 19-20 hours.  And I like driving.

I knew as soon as I opened the bag that someone had been in it.  A quick look found 2 missing items I know I put in there.  I still have to do a complete inventory to see if there is anything else missing.  I had to LOOK for the TSA card telling me they searched the bag.

I understand that it is a necessary evil, but as far as I'm concerned the only evidence I should have that they were in my bag is their card, and not be able to tell as soon as I open the suitcase because they didn't put stuff back the way they found it.  They should also have to sign the card or leave a badge number on it so when there is a claim or a report the TSA can track it.  If one screwhead starts racking up a lot of complaints they show them the door.
