That sounds logical. The TSA doesn't do logical.

They are a bunch of m0r0ns. Too much government waste goes into that department, they'll sit around and use 3 people to do one job meanwhile lines will back up and they could've had 3 lines open easily.

I'm glad they didn't go through my bag, it sucks when people are dishonest and use their "powers" for evil to steal others things.

@Harrek: the folks at reapercon are very sharing people, they share everything, including cold bugs. Only good thing about it is it doesn't seem nasty or persistant.

I don't think they searched us, we left on Monday and were probably bored tormenting the nerds... Anything I can say about TSA is best reserved for other, less family friendly, forums

Got home safe and sound around 1am this morning.  Two freeway closing accidents on Monday's part of the drive slowed me down 2 hours at least.  And I could feel my throat getting worse the whole way back.  Looks like I brought something besides awesome stuff back to Michigan. But even so, well worth the trip and hope to see you all next year again.  Sorry for not saying goodbye to everyone one, but I wanted to get on the road as soon as I could after the auction to get miles behind me.

Glad ya made the long drive safely.  You were out like a ninja though.  Took Alice around to say byes and when I went to get our stuff there was no sign of you.  Thanks again for sharing the paints from the banquet raffle win with the table and the load of paints you gave to Alice from the Sunday raffle.  I went through and added them all to our list of paints owned and told her any duplicates were for her and any singles were to go in my collection for both of us to use. :)

The trip home BLEW. Starting with checking in for our flight Sunday night, and continued until I went to bed Monday night.  We made it home safe, but is was a frustrating trip home, including the TSA's violation of my suitcase for the second year in a row.  Last year they chipped and bent minis  when they dumped a fig case and they didn't bother to put them back in, and damaged my suitcase.  This year stuff is missing from the suitcase.  I now need to call DAL TSA office to inquire about the missing items and fill out a claim.

Thought my trip home was bad, mine was just long & annoying.

Take em for all they worth!

I got home and realized I no longer have my keys.... So I probably left them in the room, somehow, but the housekeeping supervisor at the hotel was gone for the day. Fingers crossed... Car keys are expensive nowadays.

Ugh!  Hope they find them for you!  Sending good vibes through the internets.  :upside:

Oh no, chaos, that's AWFUL! :( I hope you're able to get it resolved. :(

Successfully navigated my way through both the tangled mess of roadrage that is Texas roads/highways and the Austin airport. Currently sitting at my gate nomming a pretzel dog and listening to a country singer with a decent voice in the tiny pub across from me. Will post next from the safety of my own apartment! :)

Huzzah!

Just so we're clear - my like was for the pretzel dog and not the country music.   ^_^

Have a safe flight!

Sympathy like. Maybe it's in small pockets of the luggage?

Like for getting home safe.

I knew as soon as I opened the bag that someone had been in it.  A quick look found 2 missing items I know I put in there.  I still have to do a complete inventory to see if there is anything else missing.  I had to LOOK for the TSA card telling me they searched the bag.

I understand that it is a necessary evil, but as far as I'm concerned the only evidence I should have that they were in my bag is their card, and not be able to tell as soon as I open the suitcase because they didn't put stuff back the way they found it.  They should also have to sign the card or leave a badge number on it so when there is a claim or a report the TSA can track it.  If one screwhead starts racking up a lot of complaints they show them the door.

That sounds logical. The TSA doesn't do logical.

No, they most certainly do not.

I also hope you get your car keys.  they can be a pain.  gone are the days when all you needed was a screwdriver and a hammer (did I just say that?  oops)

good luck and thanks again to everyone for a great time.  All I had to deal with on the way home was Mr Twitchy himself.  the guy in front of me just could not stay still.  fortunately it was only a thirty minute flight or he might have set the whole row twitching!
