I don't think I'll be making it next year, or possibly for a few years. Trans pacific flights are expensive, and we're looking at starting a family, buying a house etc over the next couple of years.

I absolutely would love to go again though, and try to win a silver medal (I got high bronze this time).

We needed you to save us Pingo!

Marsya couldn't take them by herself!

She didn't even try! *stares at Marsya* :P

To use to smack their hands for brush licking. If not those people, you could do us a favor and just hit colonel kane and maxstyles for us (terminalmancer, fireelemental, ludo, marineal, and myself). ^___^

:P

I could throw nickels at 'em. My scientific illustration teacher used to do that. He had a mean right arm and a good aim.

I very much enjoyed this year. I met a BUNCH of people I've known from Facebook and the Forums, but had never met in person. And my current enthusiasm is utterly dampened by the fact that I am as sick as a dog who ate the thing he found in the road; the Con Crud has struck many of us down, and I do not look forward to work tomorrow, because my peeps are already a bit bent with me for taking two days off last WEEK, despite the fact that they knew about it two months in advance.

She Who Dances With Mouselings is still kickin' herself. She couldn't go this year because her employers sent her on a week and a half junket all over the country. She very much wants to go next year. Particularly with the "vampires and gothic horror" theme...

"Vampires and gothic horror" theme?

I had better not get my hopes up this year, I had really better not.

But I think I could enjoy y'all's excitement and make hypothetical plans. Just, y'know, no promises.

I have got ribbons to give folks, anyway, and I look upon that as a promissory note.

We kept you in our thoughts. And commented when sitting around people licking brushes. Don't forget to bring a nice large wooden spoon if you decide to go! ^__^

The one forum name that came up most often was yours. Usually as part of a warning against ingesting paint combined with an apology for licking a brush*.

* clearly, you are needed here!

Goals for the intervening year:

Activate the webstore

Get or build a peg board/rack system

Develop the business contacts I made

Develop more product

Explore packaging options.

Paint 12 figures for Freeblades (though I really want to get that done in the next month or so).

Paint at least one figure for the competition, maybe two if I get crazy.

Reduce the pile in the Cabinet of Shame.

I expect that the first five are the ones that will actually happen.

Only 359 more days till the Meet and Greet!!!

Per the magnet from the swag bag, ReaperCon 2016 is April 28-May1.

Remember that Reaper has a perfect record when it comes to giving the date of the next ReaperCon AT the current ReaperCon...

Yep, they have NEVER given the proper dates out

2015 being my first ReaperCon I'm veru excited about 2016, my goals for next year:

Actually talk to people - I did have some very small (smaaaaaaall) conversations - rather, exchange of a couple of words, with some forumites but that was it, my shyness/quietness beat me. I did share classes with Sirithiliel and Marineal and some others whose handle evades me, I also took the factory tour with Dr.Bedlam

Score at least a Silver  - My entry this year won a solid Bronze, but seeing the amazing work on display made me determined to improve and get at least a Silver

Less classes, more other stuff - Took too many classes, so had little time to do actual painting on the room (did a lot of painting on my hotel room though) and gaming

Interact with the guest artists and request contest feedback - Again, my shyness got the best out of me and I didn't interact with the artists, not even for getting feedback on my entry. I did have an interesting conversation with Mr Wappel, about the wonders of bark and leftover plastic sprues though.

And a pipe dream is to enter at least once on each category (going for silvers of course) - I started planning entries as soon as I started driving back, now I just need to find the time and skill to make them. Anyway, see you all next year (and hopefully say more than two words)!

OMG, there was a woman next to me in one class who was sucking on her brush between every step like it was a meal replacement.  I had to turn my chair so the sight wouldn't make me gag.

Next year.... will happen next year.

Green and orange ribbons for Melons

Green for honeydew and orange for cantaloupe?

Pretty much. ^_^ I just have to think about what it should say. The Mr says "Show me yer melons!"

But we can all see why that's a big 'NO'.
