It looks like this and another post of mine (plus a third that I didn't finish posting) were all assigned the same post ID (or some similar identifying value) when I duplicated the new thread page last night. It looks as though everything got pretty mangled, and the only way I know of off the top of my head to fix this is to start a new post. That thread is here:

Okay, NOW I can click "Like"

I like the colour scheme, very pretty. And I think you did a fine job, especially for 2 hours ^_^ We're our own worst critics, and there is always room for improvement :;):

I think it is a very nice paintjob TBH. More shadows would make a more dramatic piece, but as it is now it looks light and nice.

Question, if you hold it at arms length under the table (in low light), can you still see the volumes and shapes? That is the minimum contrast I usually aim at. It looks like it does, but I am throwing the tip out there because perhaps it can help judging contrast.

Very nice, love the stockings.

Now I understand why you wouldn't share her at first, afraid someone stole the girl right?

Yeah yeah, blame the PC for not uploading

For your consideration I present my take on the Wizard’s Workshop. This piece was created in response to a challenge issued by a Twitch streamer that I follow. The challenge was themed Fatherly for Fathers Day 2020. I spent several hours searching for the right model until I came across this piece. Inspired by Alexi Z’s example on the Reaper website I decided to try OSL for the first time. (Using an airbrush is almost cheating lol) I wanted to find a unique base for this project and settled on the Shattered Ritual 100mm base by Secret Weapon Miniatures. In addition to the Wizard’s Workshop I also added 77318: Bookshelf, 77248: Crates (Large and Small) (2) and 77249: Large Barrel Small Barrel to the scene

The Glowing effect was created by adding LIT Green Glow Pigment by Culture Hustle and mixing it with the acrylic paint and applying it with the airbrush. C&C welcome

The Al Fasid, also known as "The Corrupted", are HaqqIslam's heavy troopers that will get the job done no matter the cost.  Their methods aren't always the prettiest, and they're never the stealthiest, and they have their own tricks they bring with them to the table.  They don't care about glory, and are solely chosen for their solid record of getting the job done.  Some enjoy it, some are in it for the solid paycheque, and others do it because the only thing theyy know what to do is fight.  Today I have the HMG version, who also conveniently carries a grenade launcher that can shoot either regular grenades to keep enemy heads down, or smoke grenades to provide additional cover.  Oh, they also pack anti-personnel mines with them too...

Since the "tactical rock" under his right foot kind of looked rather strikingly like the backpack for a Yu Jing (even though I'm not having any luck finding models to confirm this), I decided to try and test out my planned colour scheme for them.  That's right, I'll be going with a dark raver / cyberpunk burnt neon pink for their general colour, because why not - I'm going with hot orange for my Haqq...

This model is a Dark Sword Miniatures masterpiece of a sculpt by Jeff Grace. Never before have I seen so many tiny etchings on plate armor, especially on a figure that is barely 1.6 inches high. I feel a bit let down by my red OSL, but then again, this was only my second real attempt at the process, which is surely one I need to practice more.

What is a faux-prehistoric setting without Cavemen? The stereotypical fur-clad, monosyllabic unwashed barbarian that whacks a woman over the head with a club and then drags her by the hair into a cave?
Or at least, sporting the "cave man" look that was popularised in The Flintstones and The Far Side.
The reason these types are prehistoric lies in the name. Pre-history, as in "before recorded time". Which really is most of time.
We don't really know all that much about prehistoric man other than what can be gleaned through archeology. We do know that there existed several different sub-species of humans concurrently up to about 50.000 years ago. Neanderthals would be one such sub-species, the Hobbits (Homo Florensis) another.
Then we (or something) killed off all the others. Some evidence of interspecies breeding is still to be found in our modern DNA.

#628-631 These were only shown as silhouettes in the KS.

From left to right: Shaman. clubber, spearman, archer.
These are technologically advanced cavemen, as shown by their use of the bow.

The Shaman. I call him Barney. He succeeded in the Quest for Fire.

The clubber, Thag Simmons. He will be known to posterity by the manner of his demise. (Should have stayed clear of the tail end of that Stegosaur.)

Fred, the spearman. Used stones of flint to make a sharp spearhead.

Archie the bowman. His right hand strategically placed to hide his embarrassing lack of arrows from the others.

These were simple and fun to do in regular paints on a black undercoat.

I come in search of the answer to the Riddle of Steel! What do you know about it?

These minis were finished June 14th 2020.

All the information you need should be here.

As a change of pace from the Hard Mode Challenge, this round will have a Skill Challenge.

      May and June 2019 Challenge

      Your challenge is: 9!

      Bonus Challenge: The First!
"Mayday!" is an international distress signal used in verbal communication in ships and aircraft.  Your first bonus challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to paint a miniature in some distress.  This could be a diorama, an adventurer falling into a trap, villian whose weapon just broke, or anything else your mind can conjure.

      Bonus Challenge: The Second!
The Solstices: June marks the beginning of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere and Winter in the Southern Hemisphere.  Paint a miniature or a pair of miniatures showcasing this duality.

      Skill Challenge: OSL
Try your hand at painting a miniature using OSL or Object-Source Lighting.  If you feel like this is something that is already in your wheelhouse, work on your technical skills in another area.  Practice NMM, TMM, wet-blending, sculpting, or anything else you've been meaning to try.

As always, the game is made up and the points don't matter!
