Reaper Miniatures Bones 3, Launches July 7th

Recommended Posts

There's not really a point to EBs here though. Except for bragging rights I guess. I think the waves system really worked out well this year for bones 2. So as long as you make the first couple of eaves. You don't have to wait too long.

I'm inclined to agree.

The delay is actually good cause now they will have time to make a gargantuan demogorgon and other miniatures for the Rage of Demons storyline. ^_^

A delay eh? Giving you guys time to sculpt a froghemoth no doubt (unless you already had one sculpted, which knowing how awesome Reaper is, is a distinct possibility) . Very well, I approve

Time to make more carts and wagons and the creatures to pull them.

Time to make more Mouselings.

Time to make more and bigger giants.

Time to make more terrain.

(I'm hoping)

Zombicide 4 starts in late May, so a delay is good news for the "bucket-o-mini's" crowd.

I'd like to see unarmed modern-day civilians, as well as non-combat Chronoscope figures, mouslings, anthros, and small terrain bits, including dungeon dressing!

Am I the only person who budgets for this sort of thing?  I mean, a lot of the comments here are along the lines of 'Wooooo, more time to save!' where I'm going 'Oh, neat, if it happens after June 8 I might be able to sneak it onto next financial years budget for hobby supplies!'

Yes, yes, fully aware that I'm a sad little man, thank you for your concern : )

Please let there be elephants and mammoths! Can't wait. Reaper's past Kickstarters were tons of fun and I am sure this one will be too.

I put $255 down on a Kickstarter less than a fortnight ago. Yes, I budget for games, but that budget is only $100/month.

In our case we had some unexpected bills come up. Thus more time to pull money aside for it.

Later as in days, weeks, a couple months? And what does this do to your plans for the LE KS?

Depends.  We're thinking that June 8 isn't realistic anymore, is all. Things changed from announcement to now, and we thought you should know.

This is not expected to affect our plans to launch a kickstarter for Legendary Encounters in the Fall noticeably.

You folks think a broke fanbase won't affect the numbers for LE? You'd know better than me, but I'd let folks recharge their wallets unless ALL of the offerings will be pre-existing minis Bones I&II backers already have.

Oh sweet, zombies are like modern orcs, you can never have enough. Plus the Z-cide KS generally gets one a LOT of stuff for $100+shipping.

Am I the only person who budgets for this sort of thing?

If I had to budget for gaming, that would be a sign I didn't have enough money to buy gaming stuff in the first place. But I'm particular on my purchases and it has to be a fantastic deal for me to buy something.

Ok, June 9th it is!

I'm not happy, but I like Reaper, so you can have your extra day.

Fireforge games will be launching their dwarf faction for their Forgotten World range. I really enjoyed their northmen line which were basically game of thrones not Stark warriors. They had undead in that same Kickstarter.

so these will be heroic 28mm hard plastic multipart figures. This is what’s been shown so far.

There will also be foot troops with spears and hand weapons. And both male and female will be on sprue.

they haven’t confirmed yet, but if it follows with their other Kickstarter, there should be resin shields and resin heroes available too.

I was a little surprised to not see this already here.  I just got a 48 hour notification on a game called "Lurkers of the Deep" - it's apparently an expansion to a miniatures game, but in addition to the game they're also selling a bunch of 20s/30s pulp/cthulhu style minis.  (And a number of buildings, too.)  I'm not interested in the game, but I put down a 30 pound pledge to get a bunch of the figures and get the various free stretch goals figures.

There's only another 46 or so hours left, so I guess that means it ends early on March 1st.

My partner for the Secret Sophie exchange this year was NecroMancer and they requested demons or some other stuff, so I painted the Queen of Hell.  About the same time I had ordered a 3D printer and I had found a base that kind of matched an idea I had in my head.  The printer was going to ship on time, then it wasn't, then it was, and finally came in just in time to print my display base. It is from the celestial pack by Archvillain Games. It's 100mm plus some overhang. For a bit of additional flair I added some blood imps to the base.

One thing about pre-made display bases though is they can be next to impossible to actually use if they are not designed well.  This base is an example of that as there is so much rubble that I had to carve away spaces for feet or build up the area with a bit of milliput to give them something to stand on. Since ancient statues were actually painted I decided to go with that and put a simple face on the bit of statue that remained.

The Queen was actually painted before my printer arrived and because things hadn't gone crazy at work yet, I actually had time to paint her properly.  I went for a stylized NMM on her armor.  It was the first time I had tried NMM this way.  It worked but I need some more practice to really sell it.  I didn't want her to look like some cheap plastic figure (even though she kinda is ) so instead of going red like the blood imps I made her skin mostly human and then put the orange/red/purples in the midtones and shadows.

Her wings don't fit in my tiny photo setup so...

And with wings. They were not attached for shipping and needed a bit of support, so ignore the paint bottle.  Bones are evil.  Mold lines suddenly appear everywhere.  And for better or for worse, a year from now her wings will sink toward the earth, but they should rotate and touch the base.

A few extra pics I took, if anyone wants to look

I have me a bit of a dubious, largely because I'm not certain these will, in fact, work for anybody. But. Still.. the concept is pretty damn cool.

"Tilt Five is a whole new way to play games, in Augmented Reality (AR), with freaking holograms!
When you slip on the Tilt Five glasses and look at the game board, a vibrant 3D world opens up to you.  Suddenly chasms seem to drop infinitely into your table, and game characters and monsters spring up from the game board.  This is gaming unlike anything you've experienced before.
"When we started designing the Tilt Five system our focus wasn't on the technology for technology's sake.  We wanted to provide an amazing gaming experience that blends the things you love about video games and board games. And we wanted it to be just as fun when playing solo, together with your friends, or even when you're apart."  Jeri Ellsworth, Co-Founder & CEO "

Be interesting to see if this lives up to itself.
