And double yay! We have pics of the invisi... hey... wait a minute...

<_< Hardy, har har. Most amusing ReaperBryan. <_<

Yeah, I missed my calling.

Wocka Wocka.

I looked at the core 30 preview and thought, "Man, this doesn't seem like much compared to what I got in my Bones 2 core set."

I had to mull it over for a while before I remembered that the core set gets expanded.

It's been too long, Reaper.  I've almost forgotten how to Kickstarter.

Heh. It does help to remember that the Core grows.  Also we did a better job this project of having the core grow for more. We've also got some new innovative products for the Core, and a few surprise goals that we can introduce randomly, in addition to the over $4,000,000 possible goals. (it helps to overplay, so to have more things to shuffle).

Whaaaaaaaat is the deformed-looking giant? I'm unfamiliar with it.

If nobody else has commented I believe it is a Formorian.  While that exact model didn't show up in a search on the site this one did http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/formorian/latest/02685and it has a similar hunched bad but not as deformed legs.

It is a Fomorian, and it is a new sculpt. I think it may be the only new item in the Initial 30. Not to ruin the surprise, but the Bonus 24 this time are NOT from Bones I or Bones II. We're taking a chance and these are all new sculpts. That's why I didn't want to show them. I gotta leave something for July 7 at 9am CDT. :;):

Also note that we are doing Wave Shipping again, but the intention is to fulfill similarly to last time, at an average rate of ~1,200 per day (actually we have been discussing improvements that could increase that...) so a given Wave of 2,000 is less than 2 days difference from the previous and subsequent waves. Assume 2 full days for clarity, and we'll easily pull 2.5 waves per week. As such, while it's super fun to be counted in Wave 1, jockeying for position is less important than it will look on paper, where we're listing a month between like last time, to temper expectations. Also, we gave ourselves longer to fulfill, given our phenomenal on-time track record...

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!!

(Unfortunately I'll be chipping in for only 3 digits worth of that.)

Ed learned this week that he can add more digits simply by adding Zeroes before the first Significant Digit.  I asked for a 5-figure raise (in jest) and he offered me $00001.00

Sneaky tricksy accountants...

So, 24 months to fulfill this time...  :;):   :wow:

I would prefer "20" months, or less (if you count the same month twice, you can still reach twenty months under twenty months).

Plus when we had to explain to new backers who and what Sophie was and why there was a motorcycle riding succubus in a kickstarter for fantasy minis and what the Legendary version of her meant.

And then Reaper having to include an option for backers to trade her in for pledge credit.

That was a great moment for me. Trade in one pornographic figure for six usable ones.

When do we get our preview!! *ahem* That is to say, I am currently experiencing a level of excitement and antici...

The Core reward image isn't 100% complete - It has the first 30 but not the 24 Bonus figures yet.

Spoilered for image size.

And a fun Bonus Tease!

I think this is the first time you're re-releasing a figure I already have in Bones...and it's one of my wife's favorites. Fantastic!

Who sculpted the Bonus Tease models? I love what they did with the hair.

The hair? Man, check out those clothes! Even an emperor would be jealous of them!

If you look at the female with the tiny buckles, it's obviously a Werner Klocke sculpt.

The middle one, just from the style of the robes is a Julie Guthrie sculpt.

Don't you guys know your invisible mini sculptors when you see them?

I don't trust anyone who doesn't like Sophie ::P:

Painted this guy in an aquatic theme.

One of Bob Ridolfi's sweet little undead monsters from earlier this summer.  I tried some grey skin tones to give her a "definitely not human" look, with the contrasting pale yellow funeral dress.  It's all right, and there's nothing you need to be concerned about here....

Got my Reaper Bones V goodies a bit ago, and slapped some paints onto the Pumkinhead beholder.  I used Citadel Wraithbone primer, contrast paints, and Army Painter Matte varnish and...  months later it remains slightly tacky.  It's not...  awful.  But it's enough that if I put it away in a box with other minis, I'm afraid it won't mix well.  I've left it out in the sun for a day, thinking that might 'bake' the stickiness out of it...  It did not.

I got Reaper Bones because I figured I could paint, varnish and throw into a box with all my prepainted minis.  Some of my older bones remain slightly tacky too.  But I figured that with this new round of Reaper Bones, they would have got that figured out.  I've painted up the undead giant, but not yet varnished him and I'm afraid to!

I've read the various Reaper Bones help threads, many of which are very old (and one sent me to Facebook, though it looks like it's no longer available.  I don't do social media anymore, so not sure?).

Does anyone have any advice to help a guy out?  I'm pretty sure I shook my rattlecan varnish adequately.  I do live in western San Francisco and wonder if the humidity (fog, it's often cool and misty regardless of the season) may affect this.  I try to wait until the weather is clear.

What are you doing to keep your Bones stickiness-free?  Any advice you might have would be helpful.

Update 3 Nov 21: over time the tackiness was getting worse; I could no longer pick up the model for fear of leaving a nasty finger print...  (In particular, the elements that had GW's "Nurgles Rot" technical paint for some reason reacted really badly, and were quite gooey!)  But I finally got a pot of Testors brush on Dullcoat/varnish and it worked like a charm.  The figure is no longer tacky.  If that changes, I'll come back to update again!  🙂

Hi all, just thought I'd share a couple images of my first Reaper mini painted up. It definitely seemed strange not priming something before getting started (typically print my own lately in resin, so have to prime those), but I wanted to try one of the Reaper products.

I am by no means a pro, but each mini seems to get a bit better - constructive criticism welcome - I know I need to get a better photo setup sometime - maybe when the basement reno is done 🙂

Next up is Boerogg Blackrime the Frost Giant...I love doing monsters so they're on-hand when needed for our D&D campaigns 🙂
