Getting to Know Each Other --- May 2015

Recommended Posts

Thanks to all who have gone before (Talespinner and TGP as well as those who have provided them questions).  I stepped up to continue the questions.  As I have been doing a lot of traveling lately, the first few will be travel related.

Question for May 9th : What is your favorite foreign country that you have visited?  (if you have not visited a foreign country, don't worry, tomorrows question is for you)

Ireland.  Hands down.  Spent my honeymoon there.  Can't wait for a chance to go back.

Of course, that's also pretty easy, because it's the only foreign country I have ever been to other than Canada, and I was only in Canada for an afternoon, twice.

USA.

( I'm from the Netherlands).

I've visited quite a few countries, but I loved this.

I went to Arizona a few times.

It helps that I love the desert, reptiles, westerns and steaks I guess.

It might be worth mentioning that I've never been to anything as large as a country that I didn't like. There's always interesting stuff to see and people to talk to.

I've only been to 2: KANADAW, and Italy. Italy was the most fun per dollar per day, though I love visiting Canada. I go there about once a year. I have the best conversations with Canadian Customs. We often cut through Ontario on our way home from family reunions in Michigan.

Reason for visit: Just passing through

Duration of stay: Dinner

Canadian Customs Officer:  So where are you headed?

Runt with Glasses:  St. Johns (Newfoundland).

Canadian Customs Officer: WHY????

Runt with Glasses:  Because it is almost, but not quite, completely unlike Baghdad.

Canadian Customs Officer:  Understood.

Mexico is the only other country I have been to. Definitely some cool hikes and rainforest views.

It's a toss-up between Beijing, China and Florence, Italy. China was a culture-shock-- beautiful, mysterious, and the Great Wall is much steeper than I thought! Florence for the amazing food, fashion, and the fact that I was proposed to at the top of San Miniato al Monte. Can't beat that! Plus, the word "Mini" is in it which is probably significant too. I'll have to work that into a pun somehow...

Very kind of you.

But I have been there three times work related so government payed for it.

Now I rebased and it is unlikely I get the chance again to go to the USA.

Maybe some day when I can afford it. privately.

Welcome to Getting to Know you, September 2018 Edition.

Here are the roolz, copied directly from @Crowley's post from last month

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and take my place...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted between 6AM and 8AM EST
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me.
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why are always fun).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day challenges, often starting on Fridays.

The most important thing is to have fun! In fact, its now mandatory

You thought you were rid of me... you thought "Thanks Gygax's Leather Dice Bag, July is over and we're through with Crowley's stupid questions!"

      YOU WERE ONLY HALF RIGHT!

July IS over, but I HAVE MORE STUPID QUESTIONS!!

Now, as a reminder, the obligatory rulze posting:

Greetings all! It is I, the Questgiver! Wait, no, the New Questioner! You are now on a quest to answer questions for a whole month! *mad cackling*

Okay, onward to December's questions. We shall discuss random things. We shall discuss ourselves. We shall converse about holidays and food! We shall have fun and merriment and describe said fun and merriment with mirth (not ruling out some moodiness).

      For December 1st:

What have you done that you are proud of lately? It can be a big thing. It can be a small thing. We know you are at least glad to have done something!
