For your first post, it's great!

What I really like: the blue banner, his armor definition, and the freehand jewels. His hair looks pretty good to my eye, and reads as a convincing black. Good smoothness to the flesh. Nice basing.

Room for improvement: the head of the polearm could use some more shading and contrast. The flesh could use some more highlighting.

Overall a great piece anyone would be proud of!

Nice work! Especially the banner is really well done and dynamic. Could you add larger pictures? I love to see people's work blow out of proportion to really appreciate it, and your work is so good I'd really like to take a closer look :)

I like him Mocha, he's nicely done! I can tell he's one of your older figures though as you are so much better now. It's insane how much better you've gotten in a year's time.

Thanks! Good call-- I eventually want to fix that polearm. I invested in some more metallic paints and metal wash mixes since I painted him. I think they'd do nicely to add some deeper shading & brighter hotspots :)

Keep posting, this one looks amazing.

Thank you so much! You got it-- now that I've finally jumped into the "Show Off" thread, I'd like to add at least one Reaper mini per month. Goodness knows I have a hoard of Reaper minis just waiting to be painted  ::D:

Sure thing-- the forum maximum is about 150 KB if I'm not mistaken. These were ~110 KB so I can still make them a bit bigger if I crop them closer. I'll give it a shot in my next forum post!

Thanks ub3r  ^_^ You have a very keen eye-- I finished him back in November. While I switched to practicing NMM since then, I still want to do some more shaded metallics and see what I can accomplish now that I have more experience! I challenge myself with trying a new technique in each miniature I paint and I don't plan on slowing down anytime soon! Not exactly sure what's next but I'm working up the courage to try some floral pattern freehand

Next mini off my shelf of shame: The little mummy from the warlord familiars pack III.

Only when I painted the eyes of the scarabeus I realised that the sculpt is one eyed. And then I was too lazy to add the other one. Oh, well...

Just a quick paint up, enjoy!

      C&c welcome!

      Finished!

This is another one of my long term residents of my shelf of shame. Stripped, re-primed and re-painted after an unsuccessful first attempt.
I tried for a somewhat mayan color scheme by googling pictures of mayan art and choosing the paint closest in colour that I had.

Fun fact 1: The mayas produced a special blue-green pigment which they used in their paintings. This pigment is very resistent to weathering. It's known as maya blue.
Fun fact 2: Mayas used the same word for green and blue, meaning different greens and blues were seen as shades of ONE colour, not as belonging to two different categories, like for example in the English language.

I had a lot of fun with the water effects. But next time I have to cut back on the sea foam, it definitely looks better when applied sparingly.

      Enjoy, c&c welcome, as always!

Hello everyone, I completed this model last night. 14124 Kevis the Overlords Mage was sculpted by Chaz Elliott. This guy will be an evil evoker NPC in a campaign I'll be running.

      So, a few questions:

      Mercenaries.
There was a post about how if we take so many mercenaries we will lose our faction benifits? is that true? if so, where do I find the limits and who can go in what force? Going to a shop with plentiful reaper next wed and want to have a shopping list in hand for what I can use in my necropolis and crusader forces.

      SO, we can have:
      0/1 warlord
1/3 captains(assuming no duplicates with UNQ?)
      ?/? sgts?

So after that, elites as many as fill the slots, soldiers, I am assuming we can mix and match as we darn well please?

I'll have more questions, right now I am painting up a storm, just did 8 battle nuns, 4 characters last night. so today I start basing my other solidiers and elites.

Hello everyone, here's a nightmarish model I completed last night. Dark Heaven Legends 02896, Aserlis the Liche King was sculpted by Werner Klocke. All painted with Reaper MSP paint.
