Thanks LA. Mighty kind of ya. The eyes were not as difficult as I thought they would be. For realism I cribbed some techniques from a prolific wildlife 2d artist, Jason Morgan. He has several excellent free tutorials on his website and YouTube. And by cribbed some of, I mean blatantly copied the technique step by step.

 

A bit of unsolicited advice- the techniques of 2d artists often,translate quite well to our hobby.

Almost every advanced technique used by pro painters was adapted from 2d painting techniques. This is coming straight from Wren too.

  well she's a smart lady. She'd know. I think sometimes it's easy to forget. Noobs noobier than me may not know. So I think it's a good idea to remind ourselves of the fact or pass on the knowledge to others. Like we do. :-) I guess what I'm trying to say is expand your minds, man.

Thanks! You should touch your Tuma more often. Tumas like to be touched. Ummm, maybe TMI.

Tiny he's coming along great.

Maybe now I finished Ky-Ra my Tuma and Gebuhza will get more attention.

 

Provided I don't pick anything else. oh yeah, still got Maria too.

I AM painting, jeesh. Painting an exchange piece....I'll be working on lion guy a lil bit here and there tho.

Added in some more highlights. Pale saffron, glaze of whatever his midtone was I don't remember it's been sitting on my wet pallet for awhile it's listed in here somewhere. Back and forth back and forth. Calling his hair done I think. To do: beading and ribbon in hair, necklace, tusks, ears, feather, shield. As always C&C welcome.
