RIP 'John Steed' Avengers star Patrick Macnee, died at age 93

One of my long time favorite shows was The Avengers. The adventures and misadventures of John Steed and Emma Peel. Classic wit, daring escapades, and a strong female lead who was more than just a pretty face.  RIP Mr. Steed. You're in good company.

It has. I'm sad to hear this, even if he did have quite a run.

He was one of my favorite actors. I loved The Avengers...

John Steed was awesome - I think there may have been two times in the entire series his bow-tie was out of place despite kicking elf in every episode.

 

 I still remember his characters from NightMan, Thunder In Paradise, and Kung Fu: The Legend Continues.

There was another of those working actors who could elevate whatever it was he was in. A real "no small roles only small actors" kind of man.

Like Christopher Lee, a talented performer and an iconic voice. I am sad to see him go. My condolences to his loved ones.

Sad to hear. The Avengers was one of my favourite shows in my younger years. It's probably been decades since I've last seen an episode.

 

93... Hadn't realized he was quite that old. A life well lived I hope.
