Popular Post MGMPainting
I finally finished this Juggernaut for my husband's Khador army! It was the first model I attempted much weathering on, and I feel like I learned a lot...and like I have a lot left to learn. I used salt and hairspray chipping, and then I also applied a lot of Secret Weapon weathering pigments. I already liked those pigments well enough, but after this project I've decided I need a lot more of them, lol. I hope you guys like the model! I'll be painting a lot more Khador, but probably not quite as rusty as this one. -Melissa

Arc 724
Completely agree with Ub3r on this one! Very well done and the white looks really nice! I almost wanted to get out a fire hose connected to a vat of gun oil and hose him down! LOL. :)
Jordan Peacock
Beautiful! (And, yes, I can see a rusty giant stompy robot as something beautiful. :D ) I simply must learn the salt-and-hairspray technique sometime. I'm envious of such convincing-looking effects. Also, what is that you're doing with the facing arc? I am not quite sure, but it looks as if it might be red at the boundaries, blending in a gradient to black toward the front? If so, that's a fascinating way to mark the boundaries without having to paint the entire front arc solid red.
tiniest rhombus
Great job on the rust effect. Quite convincing!
MGMPainting
Thanks, guys! @Jordan Peacock - I taped off the edge of the front arc with the tape behind the edge, and then airbrushed a gradient of white and then again with red. After removing the tape I had a hard line in the solid red at the edge of the front arc. I like the look, and I've only seen it a couple other times.
