Bones Kickstarter #3 Discussion

Recommended Posts

Oh, that expansion pack is great, definitely getting my money. I don't really know why, but I've always really liked the behir while never actually using it in a game. This will now change!

Was wondering when we'd get some of the newer PF sculpts.

Investigator and... ninja-GAL! Sweet!

I don't recognize the others, but they look nice. ^_^ BUT INVESTIGATOR!

FTFY. Even the original Wayne Reynolds artwork had more than one of us have a double take at realizing it's a "she".

Left to right:

Crowe: Bloodrager class (barbarian + sorcerer powers)

Brother of the Seal: Prestige class, monk based

Reiko: Ninja (rogue alternate class)

Quinn: Investigator (rogue + alchemist powers)

Oloch: Warpriest (cleric + fighter powers)

Oloch is a good choice for Bones. He is a pretty hefty mini.

Bring on the Pathfinder NPCs and Pathfinder monsters. We need multiples of the monsters so they're ideal for Bones.

I'd like to see Pathfinder mini's for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game. Potential of bringing in more customers.

Has anyone matched the Pathfinder mini's available from Reaper with those in the PACG base game and decks? I'm sure some BGG'ers (and their money) would appreciate it!

If they are the iconics then Reaper has released everything up to Advanced Classes. As far as Bones, I think only Sietyal (sp) the iconic Magus is the only one.....no wait I think he made it too as I recall a recipe on his arm.

Seltyiel was in Bones I.

Lyra, the iconic gunslinger, has not yet been released in Bones.

For those not on the other forum: Dire bat eats insects and other things, and is an animal, rather than the beasts everyone is suggesting.

They'll start releasing more stretch goals closer together very soon. Have no worries.

I believe this is putting undeserved pressure on Reaper.  Bryan has said multiple times that a standard, expected stretch goal is 10% of the current total.  That makes it currently 115k for a normal stretch goal.  The last few have been around 1/2 of that.  Even by their revealed estimates, we are clearly taking advantage of the early buffer already.  Expecting it to get even closer together is an unreasonable expectation.  There was only so much of a buffer they could have built up on the first day.

Morning all,

It is a great morning.  I've been away from the pages for about a day due to business and am very happy with the new expansion pack.  There was a bit of slow down before with nothing for us to spend our money on but this seems to definitely have changed that situation.  I love the mix of minis and the story that has developed in my head on why they are together based on the premise Reaper provided us.  Very neat.

I'm looking forward to the next reveals and hope that there are more great buy ins.

As for whether the stretch goals are spaced right or wrong, I suggest we leave it to Reaper to figure that out.  I'm sure they have done the math and have developed a plan to make the most out of this Kickstarter.  I'm also sure that they are monitoring both this forum and the comments section on the KS and will adapt when/if they see fit.  For many of us, this is our 3rd Bones ride and possible 4th KS with Reaper (the other being CAV).  I don't believe they have disappointed us yet so I am willing to sit back and enjoy another ride.

      Greetings!

I recently bought some Greenstuffworld colourshift paints & eagerly wanting to try them out, I searched through my (huge) Bones backlog for a suitably metallic mini. I grabbed the fantastically ominious Iron Golem from the Bones 4 Stoneskull Expansion & got to work.

The blue areas are the colourshift paint, all the other areas are standard paints.

I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's not as easy to see the effect on these pics as it is with your own eyes but you can make it out. There's no shading or highlighting on these areas apart from some silver to pick out the rivets & sharp edges on the arm plates.

      Thanks for looking!

Thief : Blue Ink base + black ink to show details  (least happy)
Cleric : angelic ghost or spiritual weapon spell.  Yellow ink + TMM
Ranger: painted by minispawn.  ill take it. Makes a great ghost
Wizard: nulin Oil + higlights of green ink  (fav)
Fighter: I only painted the base. (represents an invisible PC pretty well.)

I should talk to @Doug Sundseth about this again, since he is teaching a class on it, probably today.  Not sure im happy with the set.

      Per Izzy,
If you picked up either of the Art Books in the Bones III and IV kick-starters and would like to get them autographed, be sure to bring them with you to ReaperCon. Izzy will be signing them when time allows.
