Hints for a Mini Bryan Requested to be Made:

  • Environment of origin not relevant
  • No Wings
  • Roughly the size of an Ogre
  • Upper right corner of next reveal
  • Iteration of a MM (1, 2, 3, etc)
  • Bryan begged for it to be made
  • In a reward with multiple models
  • Not possible in metal - Only Bones due to shape
  • Bryan shall crow when it is revealed.[/size]
What's this all about?
Trying to guess what the 1,110,000 stretch goal is going to be. Those are the clues Bryan gave.

What Tiniest said.

It always seems to be that these types of minis are more for dioramas or the very least for people who paint more based on what they like than what they will use, and bones seem geared towards a different crowd than that.  I don't regret having them, but they don't strike me as something that would be a big draw if we're mainly looking at a gaming market.  You run into plenty of townsfolk in games, but they aren't really the major players when combat starts and minis become relevant.  You don't really need minis for everyone that ever appears in a game, only for those who matter when you roll initiative.

Well, I've been looking for mini's to replace the townsfolk tokens in Descent 2nd edition, and Reaper's offerings are a start. I also have 2D tiles of bars, and having the patrons and staff wielding swords and daggars sure look out of place to me!

I am curious if people tend to add things to their pledge when they are revealed or when they are achieved. I realize this may be anecdotal and skewed due to only asking forum members, but which do you do?

Base Pledge, I'll add more when I see the mini I'm waiting for, the 5 headed Dragon. I had hopped Reaper was going to lead with it, but sadly not.

I think there's a good chance it may be a finale item.

I think they're holding out until it gets completed.

It's done. We're saving it for the finale, like we always do.

I hope you do the tradition of unlocking all revealed stretch goals whether or not we met the $ amount again, I doubt that we will miss surpassing the amount for Tianot, but...

And I promise not to say a word about this tradition on the comments section, I have promised myself that I will only lurk there for about 20-30 minutes a day this time around.

I love my townfolk. For some strange reason new painters gravitate to them when they pick up a brush for the first time. And they really do help "set the stage". If I put out minis for role play, it helps my gamers get out of the mindset that every encounter os a hack n slash senario.

Dumb question(s): When adding on after the KS ends, the KS prices remain available to anyone who backed during the project's run, right? I know I paid more for Bones 2 (though still got a great deal) going only through the manager and not Kickstarter, but that's only because I was an after-the-fact Wave-10 schmuck, right?

I have a friend I'm trying to convince to $1 it now, as he's too broke to do more, and I don't want to misinform him (and, heck, I can see my wanting to add more later, too).

Townspeople rock. I hunted all over hell and half of Georgia for a flippin' blacksmith mini, until Reaper finally came out with a vurra respectable one. Beggar with bowl? Surely! Lady with kids? Gravedigger? All of this is quite acceptable. Trouble breaks out in the streets of Hommlet all the time, and these guys make fine background bystanders.

The one thing I do not require more of is doxies. You know, harlots. Ladies of negotiable affection. The ones on the infamous table in the original DMG. I spent YEARS wishin' someone would come out with a fraggin' blacksmith, but every company out there had a least a few ho's in their line... which made me wonder more than once what kind of town adventures OTHER dungeon masters were running... or were these creatures you'd find in their dungeons?

Well given that Reaper has released a limited edition resin (the Kraken) in Bones, hopefully they can make up for screwing us buyers of that model by making the limited edition Nethyrmaul available to everyone in it's original scale in bonseium.

Who screwed anybody?  The Resin model is and was limited edition.

I own a resin kraken, and still bought a Bonesium one to go with it (at dramatically lower cost)

I have no complaints.

Bones I and II had a lot of "generic useful stuff" and while I'm sorry to say this, we have to expand and grow our line in responsible ways. That means increasing and expanding the *variety* of offerings, not simply the *quantity*. That means as things progress, more and more niches are found, and exploited. So yeah, it means you aren't going to get the hordes of zombies skeletons and stuff. We have fewer orcs and goblins. But how many different Orcs do you think we have to have in the line? We don't think that adding as many as are already in the line again, just because this is a Kickstarter, is a great idea from a sales and line stability standpoint.

Clearly, the only objective, level-headed way to read this is, "this is the KS campaign that will finally bring a robot mook (e.g. a Cyber Reaver) to the Bones line, I super-duper promise!" ::D:

Ladies of negotiable affection

hehehehe

I use civilians alll the time I run encounters with main objectives, secondary objectives, bonus objectives and secret objectives.

Save the townspeople locked in the church by the soldiers who have set it on fire, escort them to safety, don't let them burn to death or be hacked to death or shot with arrows, etc. Secret bonus was to escort kitten out of church as the burning roof collapsed.  Bonus objectives during that episode was save the little grey kitten 3 times from danger, and yep I have cat minis!

Had another one where a woman was in labor during the big fight as a bonus objective.
