Bones Kickstarter #3 Discussion

Ha! I am wrong, they would bonesify one of the newer ones. The stretch goal makes me really happy! I'd love for some more NPCs from the line, but I am seriously getting two sets of those!

The longer this goes on, the more dedicated I am to the concept of double-core.

 

I'll prolly still need additional Armory type pledges (and maybe Orcs and Goblins), but double-core seems like the economical choice when it comes to the number of sets I want duplicates of...

 

Just need to figure out what to do with 32 Lizardfolk! Hence my desire for pirates... lizardfolk make great primitive natives in a Caribbean-type setting, a substitute for the cannibal pygmy types of old adventure reels...

 

Freeport has "degenerate snake men", that are actually just elongated lizard folk.  And it has all the pirates you could possibly want.

Someone else I think mentioned it upthread, but my guess is a Dire Bat.

 

They love insects, but also eat fruit, and drink blood.  They have both leathery wings and fur.  It's a large animal.  I am pretty sure I remember hearing about one back in the earlier KSers.

That would be my guess too. Flying, multiple textures, affinity for insects (yum).... and Julie is well known for her lovely leathery dragon  bat wings.

I'm betting the mystery sculpt is a wyvern.  It's a classic fantasy beast that fits most, if not all of the hints.  Its affinity with insects would be its stinger.

 

My guess is wishful thinking.  I need so many wyverns for Hoard of the Dragon Queen, and they're so expensive in metal!

I would love a wyvern new sculpt from Julie Guthrie.

I would love a sculpture of an old boot from Julie Guthrie.

 

If Julie Guthrie resculpted the Monopoly pieces I would cherish them forever.

 

That she sculpts awesome things is just more goodness on top of her overall skills and talent.

 

She could sculpt just about anything and I think I would like it.

 

How do you feel about G.I. Joe figures? I think Julie and Bob sculpted a bunch of those for the toy industry at one point.

 

They have done a lot of sculpting work. (Which is part of what makes them so awesome.   )

 

Are you sure they haven't sculpted Monopoly pieces? (Sadly, the toy industry does not commonly advertise the sculptors they hire for these things. )
