So, when will we see the second and third parts of the first Expansion?  Hopefully soon.  I want to cackle over that for another day or so before we start bugging you for an early Tianot. :D

Just know, we understand.  You guys are all passionate fans and want this KS to be insane and curb stomp the previous 3.  But also remember what it looks like to a new forum member that comes here looking for information about the KS, and instead of reading this thread from the start, just starts in on the last couple pages.  I just had to prune about 50 posts since 11 AM this morning that were bickering about shipping costs.  While we all appreciate the passion, just remember what that looks like to an outsider.  Maybe someone is on the fence, and then sees the infighting and decides it's not worth the headache and walks away, not just from our community, but also from the KS.  No one wants that.

 

Please try to temper the passion and remember we want everyone to be welcome here.

 

Reaper's decisions will not make everyone happy.  It's almost impossible to make decisions that will keep 2 other people happy, let alone 9726 and counting people.  They will do the best they can for themselves first, because they are a business, and the want to keep roofs over their heads and food on their family's table.  And once they satisfy that, they will do what they can to make things awesome for us too.  They are going to make the difficult decisions based on reason, experience, and information most of us do not have access to, not solely on passion.

 

If the decisions don't work for you, your pledge will reflect that, and it will give them further information on which to base future decisions.

I'm trying.  I've still got about $200 of buffer left.  (Yes, my pledge is still statisically significant, to the tune of about 6 cents average pledge if I drop. :P )

OK, now that things are settled down a bit, I have a question out of curiosity (that I think may have gotten skipped over):

 

Are you guys still attempting to use Kickstarter monies to purchase machines for Bones production in the USA?

is there anyone from Australia here who may have got the last bones kickstarter that may have an idea on what postage may be for Bones 3, i heard some NZ people got massive import duty, not sure if Australians did

 

  People from NZ who got 'massive import duty' were guilty of not doing their research, nothing more.

 

  Do you need advice specifically for New Zealand?

OK, now that things are settled down a bit, I have a question out of curiosity (that I think may have gotten skipped over):

 

Are you guys still attempting to use Kickstarter monies to purchase machines for Bones production in the USA?

They purchased one machine, affectionately known as Thomas after the first KS.  They have been using that as a training tool to learn the ins and outs of plastic injection molding.  They are currently making their bases in house now.  I know they have said there is a long term plan to be able to start moving more manufacturing stateside, but that involves not just the machines, but also people to run them, space to put them, etc.  In additional, they will have to retool all the existing molds (or have a plate insert) to remove the Made in China and replace it with Made in USA.  Reaper is extremely risk averse, which is why they have been able to be so successful over the years and grown so much.  It will happen, but with Reaper, things rarely, if ever, happen overnight.  They are still a surprisingly small operation despite the volume of product they produce.

Didn't they get some smaller siblings for Thomas with the KSII funds? Am I misremembering?

They only had the one when I was at the shop last, which was admittedly in May 2014.  I don't recall anyone mentioning any new equipment seen during the tours from this past RCon, but I could be mistaken.

I only saw Thomas at RCon.

I hope they're able to move this stateside sometime. That would be nice for a multitude of reasons.

But above all, I want them to continue manufacturing amazing, plentiful miniatures!

I would like to see some More Sci-Fi stuff like the Blackstar Guys and i'm on the band wagon of Female Monsters!

 

Also, what a great choice in marketing for this; the retro video game look is excellent!

We have been bringing over more and more molds, but a full transition to US production is not going to be possible for a few years.
