One of my most strongly desired miniatures for this set is wrapped up in the expansion.

I was really hoping the Temple dragon was going to be a 10$ add on.

- it looked smaller than many of the dragons, just perfect for throwing at PCs.

and such a great dynamic pose!

Yeah, that was the 2nd piece I really wanted (and in metal, please).  My game group has died, dried up, and been blown away by the sands of time, so I only paint display pieces nowadays.  The expansion is a great deal, for gamers.  Right now $50 for two figures is no temptation, sadly.

I wrote out the opening to the Story for the maps.
This story Ends at precisely the moment the first KS map begins.
It's awful, being that I am not a great writer, but I had fun and I hope you do too.
It had been a long night. As the sun began to rise to the east, across the Forlorn Mountains at the edge of the world, Mrs. Bones locked the front door to the manor and hung her golden sword over the mantle. Mr. Bones propped his scythe against the wall and kicked off his boots. The graveyard was silent now, and the ferry service was closed for the day. After sunset the spirits would need to be quieted again and Mrs. Bones would go on patrol, and Mr. Bones would go to work for Mr. Charon but for now, they could rest in each other’s arms.

Mr. Bones pulled the curtain closed just as the first rays of the morning sun hit the opposite wall, and he crawled into bed beside his beloved Ulna. Dim, warm light from the gaps in the drapes filled the room as they drifted off to sleep, cold beneath their scarlet covers. The lights in their eyes dimmed, and the only sounds to be heard were the occasional rattle of their gentle breathing. Hours passed.

A dark shadow passed over the bed, blotting out all light. A great din erupted as the great window shattered, the glass ripping the heavy scarlet damask curtains into tatters. Shards of glass and crimson cloth filled the air and the shadow covered the bed in darkness that was palpable, not just blocking the light but absorbing it. Ulna jumped up, searching the chaos to find her husband, but she could see nothing in the blackness, feeling only the glass against her cheekbones and something soft drifting through the air.

The shadow receded and as light returned Ulna tried to make sense of the scene. Glass was everywhere, mixed with bright red streaks, and tufts of fluff floated through the air. The sun bathed the room in intense hot light, overwhelming her. The bed was ripped asunder. Giant rends streaked through the black-swan-down filled mattress, black streaks through rivers of crimson.

What she could not see was her dear Vomer. Her eyes flared red as she reached into her bed stand to grab a strength potion. Taking a quick second to grab her cloak to protect her from the hateful sun and a small pack, she ran down the hall to follow the trail of the thing that stole her husband. She knew she’d need her weapons, so she couldn’t leap foolishly out the window after them. She ran down the hall, emerging into a disused chamber with empty bookshelves and discarded bones - they’d always wanted to make a child, but their careers kept them both pretty busy.

An armored warrior burst through the doorway, brandishing a laughably small knife. For over two centuries Ulna had patrolled the cemetery at World’s Edge, this human warrior was no match. Ulna stopped, adjusted her cloak, and waved the soldier on. He paused briefly, not expecting his target to be so calm, but seeing she was unarmed, he grew emboldened. He lunged towards her, thrusting his dagger towards her grinning face. She extended her left leg, sweeping his ankle out from under him. As he hit the ground, she dropped, planting her knee across the back of his neck. She reached out and twisted the knife from his hand, flipped it across her palm, and thrust it into his back.

He did not scream or twitch. His head twisted around, and as he spoke his lips and eyes turned black. “You’ll never defeat us all. You will fall before us, and your power will be ours. Vomer Bones is already lost. You have already lost.†The words dissolved into unintelligible burbles and bubbles as the soldier dissolved into a gooey pool of black. That was no human, but whatever it was was the same dark shadow-stuff that had invaded their room and stolen her husband.

Standing, Mrs. Bones held the new dagger before her, straightened her shirt, and blew her bangs out of her eyes. The soldier could not have been more wrong. She would not lose...

We got jumped and lost a life! At least Bonehenge gave us a diamond.

Mrs. Bones got all ogre smash and started kicking corpses all over the place!

New map! Outdoors & line of sight. Looks like we get an extra life at 1 million plus a helmet instead of a hat.

... and outside!

More townsfolk!

More weapons!

We've used a red potion, but have picked up a blue one.

We have Stoneskull!  :bday:

Finally we find out what the Horned Platypus is... and it is a cannon?  :upside:  Interesting choice of clothing, cannon!

I was just looking at the preview gallery to see if there was a scale for the Temple Dragon and found a picture with Bryangles.  Looks like maybe 3 or 4 inches tall?  Figured I'd check and see what the price in metal is, but there was no prices listed, just a July release date.  I thought there was going to be a metal release, but now I'm not sure...

Either way, I still love how it perches on that column.  ^_^

I like how we can see the other dragons presented in the background. Gives us an idea of the scale.

And is that a teenie-weenie Sir Forscale right in front of it?

The 5 heads - 5 days challenge may need a revision.

Obviously.  Buglips is going to do 5 heads - 5 hours at that size.

So, I was hemming and hawing on the gun mini, I mean it's cool, but it's pretty spendy, and we haven't had an "official" reveal of Tianot yet, so I'm trying to be conservative with my pledge...then my buddy mentioned that gnomes are known to make steam-punky looking gadgets...drat it all, he gave the assist necessary to make me fail my will save, I'm in for one.

I have a feeling the answer is 'One per Expansion reveal' so you'll be getting three by the time all is said and done.

Hey, is that a 'set', or are they going to all retail separately? That might prove important. >.>

It's a Set on Kickstarter, all or nothing. At retail, they will be broken into blister packs (probably 2 SKUs for the 6 kobolds and 1 sku for each other thing) and not be available as a set.

I think it was said but can't recall. What is the MM/Bestiary equivalent of the stitch golem?

Still wonderin'.

Any number of golems, constructs or animated objects can be made to fit the stitch golems. Also things like ragamuffins if you like those.

Yes, that small blob in the lower right adjacent to Ma'aldrakar's base is in fact Sir Forscale.

So awhile back I was horrified to discover that some old un-finished minis had sprouted a strange orange mold. I gave them a deep clean and seemed to have solved the issue (spoiler: I did not and it's affecting nearly all my minis... but that's a problem for another time).

As a reward for enduring the cleaning, these goblins deserved to finally get painted.

      Goblin Command (77349)
First up are these two baddies from one of the Bones 2 expansion sets.

These guys, being earlier bones, are a bit on the rough side, and definitely out-of-scale with the others. But that does help them stand out a bit.
      More Photos Below the Spoiler:
      Goblin Warriors (77444)
Next up, we have our "heavy hitters" from Bones 3.

I like these sculpts a lot better. There's a uniformity in the face structure, while still having individuality between models.
      More Photos Below Spoiler:
      Goblin Skirmishers (77445)
The final batch of wimpier goblins from Bones 3.

These guys are the mookiest of mooks. Poorly armed, and poorly armored. These are the guys that get sent in first to soak up some arrows.
      More Photos Below Spoiler:
It's nice to finally have some painted goblins. Though my bag full of 50+ more unpainted goblins still taunts me.  I have plans to paint them in a few different shades from the yellow-green used here, to a fleshy yellow-tan, to a pale fleshy-grey.  Hopefully that'll break up the duplicates and add some variety.  But that's a future project.
After painting all these guys up I am tempted to finish the set with the Goblin Honor Guard.  They're the only ones I don't have. I can't see myself getting much use out of them, as they're a bit more situational or decorative than practical. But my completionist brain says I need them.

Reaper has so many incredible and different goblin sculpts.  Which ones are your favorites?

And a third NPC - his day job is boatswain, so I wanted the armor to not be full plate.... he's currently helping the party do a fetch quest for the captain. I'm pretty satisfied with what I got out for what I put in - but I do notice I seem to have forgotten his eyebrows!

      From Bones 3: Gug

"It was a paw, fully two feet and a half across, and equipped with formidable talons. After it came another paw, and after that a great black-furred arm to which both of the paws were attached by short forearms. Then two pink eyes shone, and the head of the awakened gug sentry, large as a barrel, wabbled into view. The eyes jutted two inches from each side, shaded by bony protuberances overgrown with coarse hairs. But the head was chiefly terrible because of the mouth. That mouth had great yellow fangs and ran from the top to the bottom of the head, opening vertically instead of horizontally."

Ahoy, my dream enemy! Have at you!
