Bones Kickstarter #3 Discussion

I know it's way early but I predict that expansion 3 will be an undead themed expansion.

Maybe I'm just hoping. 

I'm guessing it will be sci-fi in nature.

 

 

Good call. That would give backers more variety but might not pull in the kinds of numbers that another fantasy expansion would. Were there some sci-fi minis previewed at the con? I tend not to notice them. I'm guessing undead because of some of the pieces shown off during ReaperCon and the Mausoleum that was talked about in the podcast. It may not be a undead expansion, but they have a great setup for a "Nightmare" style one with that cool golem and the scenery. They might just be add-ons though.

Just that expansion 2 would have minis that could be used frequently with ToEE. Guessing the cultists

Has it been stated officially that the items from the expansions will not be made available individual (at higher prices)? I would love some extra bandits/gremlins along with my Stoneskull set, and so far am only interested in the cultists from Mythos. I know that eventually they will be available retail, but that's so far away!

OFFICIAL ANSWER:

components of expansion sets will be not available separately.

they are an all or nothing option.

 

at least until they hit retail post fulfillment.

You never have more than 20. Goblin math specifically sets a limit of 20.

I would almost certainly go in for an undead expansion. Sci-Fi, not so much. And as much as I love the cultists, I'm pretty sure I'm out of the Mythos expansion; the rest of it just isn't that interesting to me.

I'm in for the Ogre Command. At some point I am going to hit my pledge max. No doubt. But I am so glad I can continue to add after the KS is over.

I'm not a big Lovecraft fan but I like the monsters. Can always use horribly tentacled aberrations in D&D. And love the cultists. Always need more cultists.

On reflection, I think the Gothic archway could have been the entrance to the mausoleum.

Not much chance of that, but it's a good thing. Reaper probably has something very clever, and twice as awesome, up their sleeves.

 

I have to say, the Mythos expansion is WAY cooler than I thought. I've never used a Lovecraft theme in Pathfinder but having a large set of minis to flesh out a game has won me over. Between this set and some choice stuff from Bones I & II, GMs have plenty of nasty buggers for a horror campaign. It's not my usual thing but that's what's so great about the Bones line getting bigger and bigger. Lots of options to make something interesting happen.

An undead expansion would be lame. I have tons of unpainted undead from KS 1 and KS 2 and don't need any more......juuuuuuuuusssttt kidding. There can never be enough undeath!!!!!!!!!!!!
