Bones Kickstarter #3 Discussion

Recommended Posts

I finally gave in. Some of the expansions look great and I want those Frost Giants. Unfortunately the pledge manager appears to be down tonight so I couldnt do the extras

You don't need the manager to add more to your pledge. It doesn't actually add to your pledge anyway, it only calculates it. Just click the blue "Manage Your Pledge" button and add the amount you need to get the extras you want. Even if the pledge manager was up you would still need to do that to up your pledge.

Actually, some of us do need the pledge manager to up our pledge as it calculates the shipping costs

Have to admit I'm very happy to see the dwarf addon. Most of the unveils through much of the campaign haven't been my thing so it's fun to see something new I'm excited about.

I predict that we begin to see increases after today, maybe Monday moving into the burst at the end.

Some further guesses:

  • Monday we earn $70k
  • Tuesday we earn $75k
  • Wednesday we earn $80
  • Thursday we earn $100k
  • Friday we earn $200k
  • We end Saturday with $800k.

That puts an end prediction of $2.78m based on those and I had an original guess of $2.8m. Hopefully we have some even better days than that along the way.

I want the sandworm.....4.5 day left.....worried....

Worst case scenario, worms are not that hard to make. They are actually a decent first project.

Ok, who the heck approves Reaper's dwarves that make it into bones? I was weirded out by the bare-elfed S&M dwarf that snuck into the Oh Rats! add-on in KS2. But THIS?? Puppet-wielding jester and war-pugs and miniature pony rider?? Who on earth decided that was a marketable product and a priority to put into bones production???

.

.

.

Whoever it was, I want to give them a hug. I'll take 10, please.

Gotta admit, I'm not really diggin' the dwarves. Even my son, who loves dwarves more than anything, was a little underwhelmed by the set. We both really like the proud, smirky looking female, Gandwarf on the pony and the huntsman, but the rest are kind of meh. Maybe they just need a coat of paint. The king looks very nice (love the owl on his helm) but the throne area seems under designed. Something like that should be display worthy.

Luckily, the Pathfinder II pack is excellent, although I'm still hoping we get a Sinspawn. Those attack in groups so multiples are important. Bones makes groups happen.

I like it... but hitting $3m would be a nice round number to wrap things up with!

Love the dwarves! And the Pathfinder set has some of my most desired Pathfinder minis for Bones since I wanted multiple Aglandas and mantis assassins.

Still, at the rate of 60-70k/unlock, that's still like 15-20 unlocks...

And this KS is having comparatively huge unlocks, isn't it? We've had a lot of unlocks with 2 different things, a pay and free addon...

That said, if we get one more full expac, 20-30 more core figures, and the Gunthrie Tianot, I'll consider it a success. Some more Giants and a few more Large/Huge monsters, and this'll have been perfect. I am hoping for an animals core addon, since we have the cow/goat/pig and there was that moose folks were showing off...

      From Bones 3: Gug

"It was a paw, fully two feet and a half across, and equipped with formidable talons. After it came another paw, and after that a great black-furred arm to which both of the paws were attached by short forearms. Then two pink eyes shone, and the head of the awakened gug sentry, large as a barrel, wabbled into view. The eyes jutted two inches from each side, shaded by bony protuberances overgrown with coarse hairs. But the head was chiefly terrible because of the mouth. That mouth had great yellow fangs and ran from the top to the bottom of the head, opening vertically instead of horizontally."

      From Bones 3, the Werearmadillo

Obviously, lycanthropy has spread too far...and this is a reminder that Reaper are from Texas, where armadillos are native and as I understand it, seen as pests. I would really like to know how the sales figures for this model compares to other lycanthropes.

I have a series of vignette's I'm planning that all feature ogres in amusing scenes with townsfolk. The first of this series is here.
With this one I imagined the young milk maid is taking her boyfriend home to meet the parents for the first time. The boyfriend, wanting to put on a good first impression has worn his best striped collar and matching belt, as well as brought his best skulls.
He's a bit nervous so she's trying to reassure him. "Don't worry... Mom is going to love you."
She doesn't say anything about dad, though...
Any critique and criticism is always welcome.
