Bones Kickstarter #3 Discussion

The kobolds look like computer generated images, meaning they haven't actually been sculpted yet.

I thought the computer renders are digital sculpts that will get 3D printed. Is that not the case? Is someone going to actually sit down and sculpt those out of greenstuff?

 

Edit: actually, I just read that Bobby Jackson has switched over almost entirely to doing digital sculpts in Zbrush that get 3D printed. So yeah, the kobolds are done, and I think the update said kobolds and goblins are Bobby Jackson's.

 

 

Yep, Bobby Jackson, Gene Van Horne, and Chris Lewis now sculpt only (or primarily) in Z-Brush.

 

Julie Guthrie, Bob Riddolfi, Jason Wiebe, Tre Manor, Kevin Williams, Matt Gubster, and myself still work mostly in putty, at least as of RCon 2015.  Of these, I know that at least a few of them are looking into Z-Brush and/or are trying to learn it (Tre and Jason have been posting about it a lot on FB).

Man, I love the dwarves. So perfect for making a dwarven city or king's court, and the mounted wizard is great - all they need are some warriors and retainers. Ursula's perfect for that, too!

I like a lot of the mythos expansion so far. It's not as much of a 'must have' for me as Stoneskull, but it is pretty cool.

 

Given that, and allowing for the fact that I am holding a little back for a 5-headed dragon at the end of the campaign, I think I am now pretty close to my limit for this one. Some stuff will just have to wait for retail.

 

I am aiming to keep my pledge to around 2/3 of my KS2 pledge.

My only goal is to spend less than I spent in Bones 2, so <$458...I'm pledged at $400 right now, and in the pledge manager, I had $301, but I think there are a couple more things I want to select when it comes back up.

The price change to Shubby is unfortunate, but not unsurprising. It seemed like just a bit too good of a deal for $10.00.

So, Shub-Niggurath is actually a $15 add-on. I thought $10 seemed a little cheap for how big she (it?) looks in the image. I thought maybe Reaper was continuing the trend of having a 10 Cthulu mythos mini in every Kickstarter, which began with the Big C himself in Bones I.

 

Anyway, I'm actually excited that the correct price is $15 because it just means that Shubs is more likely to be as awesomely huge and epic as she is in the image!

That's the way I feel about many Bones add ons I got in 1&2 and how greatly I beat myself up for NOT getting multiples of many at the time...

Apparently you have to be a Facebook member to see any of Tre's posts.

 

I think you actually have to be not only a FB member but also his friend on FB.

Apparently, Kickstarter won't let them change the update graphics after they've been posted.

The price on the Campaign Page is $15. I suspect Kickstarter will not let Creators edit Updates, however.
