I don't think it would work - too much weight on the back legs.

 

Agreed. I wonder if Reaper's done any research into pinning Bones in the factory, either before or after casting.

 

Edit: Although the figure could be done if it was redone with a flying base.

As a mounted figure, that breaks the 3 points of support rule.  Looks nice, but not bones viable without bulking up those back legs like crazy.

If the tail is touching the base, it could be enough to keep it level.
