Bones Kickstarter #3 Discussion

I already bought tin man and the monkey, in metal.  But I love the idea of a bones flying monkey @ retail, I may need a troop of 4-5 total. 

I adore the manticore, but don't have the same need for a sphinx. I will put that expansion in the maybe pile. with retail as a backup.

 

does 12$ seem a little high for 2 bones figures? I mean the giants are less than that.

I think it might depend on how big they are- they could be pretty solid. 

As far as I know, there was only one addon from the first Bones that was about equal (or slightly more) than retail: the stone and tree elementals. Most are less expensive.  

My guess is that these two are a bit bigger (denser?) than the other addons.

The sphynx and manticore are in for m right now, but they will be the first add on out depending.. getting close to my spend limit for the KS and Mal still hasn't reared his ugly heads..

I have a question, not sure if it has been answered before: if I have a $100 "2015 Bones 3 CORE SET" can I also opt to pick any $100 worth of other choices instead?

Or is it obligatory to pick the core set?

You can pick anything you want.. you are not forced to take the core..

The sphinx and manticore come with separate, sizeable terrain bases.

 

Plus also they are drop dead gorgeous. Julie Guthrie did a magnificent job with them. The sphinx is beautiful, soft-faced and catlike with gigantic, easy-to-paint eyes and some of the best feathered wings I have ever seen. The manticore is spiky, vile and malevolent-looking, lean and dangerous and snarling.

 

They are a beautiful, beautiful pair of desert monsters. What a great reveal!

I was meh on the dwarves, which is sad for me because I like dwarves and want more. But I want more PC dwarf mini options first before stuff that seems more diorama-y. We've got a couple dwarven warriors (though only one female) and a couple clerics, but one ranger (male) and.. nothing else. A serviceable paladin, a bear-rider (awesome), but no more rogues? More than 1 female warrior on foot? The ever-elusive dwarven wizard (a female one that is)!? I'd take any of them over what's in the add-on. Still, it got people pumped and spending dollars. Bring on the stretch goals!

 

I'm personally pretty excited for the manticore and sphynx. They're both great-looking sculpts. Thanks to Bryan for the alternative shots on the sphynx! I'll be curious to see what more we unlock before the end. Will we get to a third expansion set before the end of the KS and Tianot flies in to take everyone's dollars?

Ron said it is not representing dhole. I think we can take that as meaning not in Exp2...maybe.
