Bones Kickstarter #3 Discussion

Recommended Posts

So  I did it... I just backed for some add ons and stuff..paint...

Only thing is, they will end this at july 26 and then we will get an email wich we will have to answer with some more info..

But I will be on vacation then, it is no big deal that I will be able to answer this and fulfill the pledge manager some 10 days later is it?

That would only be a problem if your credit card fails to clear.  You only get 7 days to correct that.  But if it goes through, all the surveys and such probably won't be required for several months.

The froghemoth is an amazing classic monster. Stands in very well for any huge weird thing monster, but honestly I want the dark young model they showed off at Reapercon significantly more. It's good for similar reasons but just looks better. Now if I got both I would be even happier, but if it's just the dark young I'll be satisfied.

The thing with Europe is really they just need to admit they can't survive on their own. Get on with it and let Canada annex most of you. That way you'll be a part of NAFTA all clean and easy and your absurd VATs will plummet to reasonable humane levels of taxation.

I spy with my little eye....  in the core. axes, clubs, spears, two handed weapons, short bows, great axes, scythes, maces, ect..  I want those weapons for conversions at the very least. And I would much rather cut up a "pledge cost" plastic fig than a MSRP fig. AND monsters!  I'm in for the core, no doubt. Do I "need" more heroes? Nope. Do I want them anyway? Yup. And that frees up options with my heroes from the first two KSs. More is better. I like more.  Keep 'em coming Reaper!

I think the question for the EU crowd is one of value.  How much do the normal figures over there cost each (we'll call that number A)?  When you add VAT and shipping and whatever to the KS what does the per figure cost end up being? (We'll call this number B).

Is B < A ? Then it's still a good value, might not be as great as deal as for those of us in the USA, but still a better deal.

Is A > B ? Then wait and buy them when they distribute out.

Only variables would be if there were a good number in the core you didn't want, but we're all big kids here and math isn't that hard. heh

I've raised my pledge amount with almost each new goal in this Kickstarter and in countless other big Kickstarters and never lost my place. As long as you ONLY change the amount and not the pledge level you are totally safe.

I just threw in enough at the start to cover a bunch of add ons.  Not reached what I started with yet.  But I know it will.

Oh man, I was all ready to pay an add-on fee for those ogres, but we're getting them for free! Sweeeet! That's a lot of plastic in those big guys.

I'd still love to see some lady-monsters.

And barros and tempest.

Any chance we might see an intact Mystic Circle/Bonehenge?   Maybe with a Mystic Altar in the middle?

A three or four inch pyramid would be cool.  Especially if it had swappable tops of normal bones and clear.  A nice bright led under a clear top should make an interesting effect.

Those ogres are great.

And for those expecting cyclopes from the game map, you'll notice that the middle ogre has an eye-patch. A one eyed large humanoid monster = CYCLOPS(ish)!

The sprites are not necessarily always clues, but they sometimes are.

That's clear.

That looks like a new phrasing for "I can neither confirm nor deny" ...

I dunno, the sprites haven't always been matching up with stretch goals. I mean, the double-unlock for mouslings and paints was the brown blobby thing. :)

I would love more slimes, though!! ^_^

Huzzah!

--OneBoot :D

Well, oozes do split into 2 from slashing attacks. The next sprite looks like it could be an ooze as well. Any bets on whether it's another double unlock at $1mil? Perhaps Paint Set B and another paid add-on?

I can tell you from experience that Bobby Jackson's 3 ogres are awesome. I have those in resin from the RAC, love them (2 in my ReaperCon Diorama).

When the PM allows them to be added on as a pack, I'll add them to my pledge.

      From Bones 3: Gug

"It was a paw, fully two feet and a half across, and equipped with formidable talons. After it came another paw, and after that a great black-furred arm to which both of the paws were attached by short forearms. Then two pink eyes shone, and the head of the awakened gug sentry, large as a barrel, wabbled into view. The eyes jutted two inches from each side, shaded by bony protuberances overgrown with coarse hairs. But the head was chiefly terrible because of the mouth. That mouth had great yellow fangs and ran from the top to the bottom of the head, opening vertically instead of horizontally."

      From Bones 3, the Werearmadillo

Obviously, lycanthropy has spread too far...and this is a reminder that Reaper are from Texas, where armadillos are native and as I understand it, seen as pests. I would really like to know how the sales figures for this model compares to other lycanthropes.

I have a series of vignette's I'm planning that all feature ogres in amusing scenes with townsfolk. The first of this series is here.
With this one I imagined the young milk maid is taking her boyfriend home to meet the parents for the first time. The boyfriend, wanting to put on a good first impression has worn his best striped collar and matching belt, as well as brought his best skulls.
He's a bit nervous so she's trying to reassure him. "Don't worry... Mom is going to love you."
She doesn't say anything about dad, though...
Any critique and criticism is always welcome.
