Arc 724
Oooh, now that I really like. :D Though, I think slightly wider feet would look more able to handle a side heavy gun like that. Just my personal opinion. -Gunz That is what I was trying to think of. It was sitting in the back of my brain and I couldn't bring it to words. Vil-hatarn
Neat design, though off-center torso-mounted guns are a bit more Battletech than CAV, generally speaking. A centered dorsal mount would be more typical--no balance issues and the ability to pivot to target far faster thanks to the Bellar joints. I like the Dart-reminds me just a little but not too much of the Vulture 'Mech.

I like the Dart-reminds me just a little but not too much of the Vulture 'Mech. The chin turret of the MechWarrior 4 Vulture actually served as reference - not so much as to mimic it, but to avoid mimicking it too much. It's a lovely machine, but I didn't want to take too much from it subconsciously.
Vil-hatarn
Very nice! Fits the overall CAV aesthetic while also having a distinctive look of its own. Love the stubby arms!
Bonwirn
I like the look of the central gun much better than the side mounted gun.
Girot
Loving the 3D fan art! I've always been jealous of folks who can create mecha. There are a lot of things I can do but mechs, to my great disappointment, where never one of them.
mercoutlaw
Definitely needs bigger feet to fit the CAV look. But other than that this is a very cool design!

Girot
Major's Feedback: Vindicator Render This has the beef, balance, and balls of a proper medium CAV. I only have a few simple suggestions. The feet are fine as they are. I see some articulation possibilities in the "toes" there so this works fine. If anything I would suggest simply stretching the "side toes" out a little and splaying them out by about 5-10 degrees outward. CAV are actually far more agile then they appear as Bellar Joints allow a range of motion unlike anything you've seen before. Unless you read the fluff you'd have no idea. It's back is a great big open target and the cockpit is too small. I would add more detail between the "shoulder blades" by building it up into a proper mount for the Heavy MAC. That clears the weapon of the canopy entirely so it looks like it will actually open AND gives us enough room in the cockpit for a WIZZO (fire control officer). Extend the shoulders a bit so the R5's can rotate on a 180 degree fire arc. All you need to do is scoot the rocket pods out a tiny bit, that's it. If this actually got modeled those pods would get their own pegs so they could actually rotate on the model. Majors Feedback: Dart Render & Stats @Sparks: You freakin nailed it! @CAVBOSS: Looking at this as an anti-infantry platform I got to wondering why you went with autocannons? Then I remembered PA (power armored) infantry, lol. This is really an awesome design. I would actually build a "Suppression Unit" around this design.

Two comments on your feedback: 1) The Vindicator doesn't need a larger cockpit for a wizzo, since it doesn't have one according to the stats. Single combined pilot/weapons seat only for this one. I have given more room for the canopy to open, though, which was my original reason for not mounting the MAC directly above the canopy in the first place, though further exploration has proven that it's doable with a forward-opening canopy. 2) I think you're optimistic about being able to rotate the pods on this if it were a mini. The Razor with 6DT doesn't have any arm rotation for what I'd imagine as similarly sized pods. That said, on the off chance, I've bulked up the mounts and widened them. Thanks all for the wonderful feedback! It's been great evolving the model with your thoughts. For now, I'm leaving the Mk 3 iteration of the Vindicator as the last stage. I've got some plans to do some designs of my own in a thread CAV General to stop hijacking this thread, though, so we'll see what happens there. fishnjeeps
I thought the cockpit was fine before. Not all cockpits hinge up. I saw this as sliding forward. But it looks cool.
Bonwirn
Oh my! So sweet looking in the last update. When will this be able to be ordered? *wink*wink*

fishnjeeps
Yep! Thats what I thought too. Just like some fighter planes. Though those two pieces could just slide as one.

Yeah, my thoughts are along the lines of: You could even have the cockpit function open two ways: The back half (rectangular section) Wing up, and the front section pull out and down.
