Mr Murica, the Mustard Monk

Recommended Posts

Oh my goodness! See your link to this in the revolutionary painting challenge. Clicking the link did not disappoint! I LOVE this! LOVE! Your field of lilies turned out very good (maybe he is at a park? At a little league game fighting for justice?) Excellent execution on a fantastic idea. I smiled and really enjoyed this upon opening it and seeing what he was. Amazing.

Silliness is The Way, AND you've mastered it with the Kung Fu Vendor. An INSPIRED paint job...VERY WELL DONE!

This is utterly fantastic. My eyes went right to the picture before I read any of your description and I was sat here thinking "Oh the title mentions mustard, must be a joke since the thing he's holding looks like a mustard bottle......wait is that a hot dog in his other hand....wait, wait, wait, lemme go back and read this" ::P:

Love love love the humour in this!

My quest to complete all of my Bones Kickstarter minis continues. Here we have "Fly Demon" -- pretty spry for a fly guy.  I've done the base colors, most of the highlighting, and now I need to do something more with these giant yellow eyes.  Suggestions?

On photo review, I'll go clean up the veins in the wing a bit more.  I am considering adding a metallic glaze to the chitin and the wings.

Hello everyone, here are pictures of a model that had been waiting 34 years before being painted, Ral Partha 02-333 Acrobatic Thief sculpted by Julie Guthrie.
"Thanks to @Thoramel, for providing me with the model info.

      Hi folks!

Today I started painting #03836 "Jakob Janssen, Monk" for our friend Jakob. Sending him some good vibes during this time and excited to finish this and ship it his way! I started with skintones and I'm currently working on painting him with a big ol' George Clooney smile

I want to finalize my color scheme but I'm really struggling! Many great painters have already posted photos of their version of this mini and I want to do something different than what's already been done. Here are the three I'm considering:

The traditional Shaolin monk color scheme Iron Fist (Marvel) color scheme? (green & yellow) Halfling Monk (Pathfinder) color scheme? (green, red/orange, yellow with freehand insanity) Others??
HALP! The more options I research, the less decisive I get. Going to check back in tonight to see what folks think since I'll need to decide before my livestream tomorrow morning. At the end of the day, no matter what color scheme I choose, I'll do my absolute best to make sure it's something that will hopefully bring @JakobJanssen some creative joy   I'll check back in soon. Thanks in advance for your thoughts & suggestions!!

      --Mocha
