I've always liked this sculpt. Nice work on the head/face (eyes are great!) + I like the belly scales.

Nice job!!

OK got off my dead @$$ and began the base,

First I routed out part of the base to fit it into using my dremel tool with a router bit.

Pieces I plan to use, not including flock / static grasses can be seen around the base.

Glued him down with super glue and let dry. Then filled in around him with Liquitex Sand Texture Gel.

Going to give things 24 hours to dry / set, as this is the 1st time I will be using this much pumice paste.

Finally, a few picks of locations of parts I am planning:

I realize I will need to cut up the skelly, just not sure how much to use... Head and Rib cage are definates, as there will be grass growing between the bones...(I hope!)

One thing I am debating is whether or not to use some water effect in the rocks to do a 'tank'.

A 'tank' in the desert where water can gather without seeping away into the sand, and is usually in a shady place. Very important for animals.

C&C welcome!

I can see the hindquarter gone, like it was ripped away by some predator already.

Nice start to the base thou.

Hey all!

The pumice dried and got painted, but I wasn't thrilled with it, so I re-sanded the whole thing tonight, and added the bits of the horse skeleton that I planned for the base, and now I am building up the sand around the skeleton to give it the 'half buried' look. I am also building up the sand in some other places so the base doesn't look overly flat.

Will need to build up the sand around the skeleton more, than will then start adding tufts of grass of different heights around the rocks, and a few scattered about. I also want to have some growing through the rib cage as well, and will put a little water effect in the rock cluster.

C&C welcome!

Thanks for looking!

I suppose I should assemble mine and paint it.

NO!!!! A THOUSAND TIMES NO!

Sure put the arms on, but don't add the tail section until after you Dullcote! It was hard enough to get a brush with white glue for the sand in the gap! Can't imagine trying to paint legs/feet/claws in there....

Hey all!

Built up the sand a bit, and started adding grass tufts....

Likely going to use some Harvest Gold static grass flock in a few places as well...

Still debating the water effect and some moss and or green grass weeds....

George,

This, the Peryton and the Orc with the bird are my favorites right now.

Keep it up, you're doing great!
