Looking for: fisherman + small boat minis

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm looking for a 28mm scale (or a little smaller maybe) small boat with someone fishing from in.  Small row-boat or a tad larger.  I've been through the Reaper site and haven't come up with anything yet.  My Google-fu hasn't yielded much luck either.

Toying with a diorama idea with the kraken and he needs a victim.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Probably a bit too fancy on the prow, but you can get the boat from 02696: Charon in the Reaper Boneyard...

If you can find a mini of somebody in a sitting position that works for whatever boat you find, it shouldn't be too hard to use a piece of wire (and possibly some thread or thinner wire) to cobble together a fishing pole.

Thanks for the input folks.

There is a retailer of things for model railroading that I buy most of my basing materials from, they are called scenic express, and they have all sorts of useful things....

Checked them out and their only boats are way too big.  Other cool stuff though!  Filed away for future reference.   ::D:

Found a couple options for the boat from Miniature Building Authority and Scotia Grendel Productions which require more research.  The Ainsty Castings one looks awesome too!  thanks Pingo!

Still looking for an appropriate sitting model as my sculpting skills are pretty minimal...

Actually Smeagol and Deagol in boat is an excisting miniature from the Mithril range.

Maybe you can still find it?

They have discontinued it but I may have found one on Ebay.  Thanks for the awesome suggestion. They're not fishing but it'll be much easier to fix that!

Renaissance Miniatures had a Kickstarter a while a go for pirate era town as well as ships. They had some smaller vessels. The boats were made out of wood.

Thank you for this!  Some very cool ideas.  I had briefly looked at their KS when it was active but passed.  Waiting for some of the newer stuff to hit their site.

Fishermen? Maybe I'll try sculpting one.

Good luck!  :;):

I barely received my last campaign pledge from Midlam that already it has something that caught my interest.

Sisters of the Kraken Cult. The female counterparts of the previous "Onslaught of the Cult of the Kraken Lord" and "Cultists of the Kraken Lord". (I now have some regret of not getting it)

What's also interesting is the optional add-on of fish folk.

Brinewind is going to have some interesting neighbors.

So my Husband needs a boat for his 4E campaign. It unfortunately cannot wait until Bones 5 delivers so I bought a paper craft boat from World Works Games. It's called The Maiden. It's HUGE. Photo from the website in spoiler. In the photo you can see a few minis placed on it for scale.

Like I said HUGE. I've done some other paper craft boats before but nothing like this. I'll be using foamcore for the base of the decks but the rest of it is card stock, transparency paper, and Uhu glue(the glue stick not the liquid-y stuff). I'm not yet sure which figurehead and props I will be using. I may just make them all and let Husband decide what he wants/needs after that.

Thankfully, this thing comes with pretty detailed instructions so it shouldn't be...not sure hard is the word I want but it's the one I'm going to use. So it shouldn't be hard, it's just up to my skill to cut, glue, and (most importantly) follow directions. It will take lots of time though I am sure of that.

As my players are going to be floating around the Darklake in the Underdark for the next few sessions, after drawing it the first night, I thought about trying to build it instead.  We use the grid and my players floundered when we tried to do away with it so trying different ways to incorporate it into the build.

Playing with wood texture.  My one cut was horrible and it ripped more than it cut.

Used chipboard templates to guide the curved cuts.

2 different grid options on the front and back.   Like the front but it’s a bit more confusing than just using the “nail holes”.  Will see how the middle goes.

      Thanks for looking.
