Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

For those who are worried about delivery issues that they are trying to plan around, I highly recommend investigating the MyUPS service as well as whatever mail hold/forwarding services are available in your area.  UPS will hold packages for a few days, notify you the day before scheduled delivery, etc.  I believe they also support forwarding to a different address but I would suggest setting this up ASAP.  This is done automatically, based on your delivery address.

I am going to sign out of the forums for a while, because it's turning into a no win scenario around here no matter what you're actually saying.  Like Thes said, I have enough stress in my life.

Thanks for the heads up I did edit it but I think my post didn't come across the way I wanted it to.  I will keep this in mind in the future.

Now I'll get out of the way for people who are part of the KS to post.

Take care.

My theory is that the shipper pulled another bait and switch on reaper, like last time. Anyone remember this update?

S#!t happens. This time it's happening in my favor, so my sympathies go out to those of you who it's affecting negatively.

Ladystorm - you'd actually get in that much trouble for communicating? Is what's happening really that sensitive?

If that is the case, then the shipping update is false.

"We will be dividing backers into 3 Zones. Zone 1 is Europe (including the Balkan states) and Africa. Zone 2 is Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Japan, and the Pacific. And Zone 3 is North and South America, the Caribbean, and related territories (including APO addresses).

Zone 1 & 2 orders are being pulled first, in wave order, and will be shipped to the UK and Australia, respectively. From our new partners in these countries, they will be shipped out to individual backers. This should mean a great savings in VAT, taxes, fees, and other duties on your end.

It is expected that pulling Zone 1 & 2 orders will take approximately 2 days.

Once Zone 1 & 2 Orders are pulled and en route to their respective fulfillment hubs, we will begin pulling Zone 3 orders, which will ship from our Denton, Texas facility like always. By pulling Zones 1 & 2 first, we hope to have them arriving in the UK and Australia just as the first US backers are receiving their parcels.

Backers in all 3 zones will receive emails from the shipper with tracking information.

Canadian backers are reporting that the shipping origin is from within Canada, so the "all zone 3 will be shipping from Denton" is not true, or at least appears not to be...

If we aren't shipping from Denton the what the broccoli did I spend all week doing?

I assume villanously twirling your moustache.

You've all been working hard there, ladystorm has the cuts on her fingers to prove it. I trust that you're all doing your best to get this rolled out as quickly as possible, just keep doing what you're doing and don't let yourself get burnt out. Vote of confidence right here.

I will have an Update when the informaton we wanted to share in the update is available. We will also take the time in that update to review changes that have been made to the process. I am at work today on a Saturday to try to resolve some of the issues that these last-minute changes caused, and to further try to resolve other ones before they become yet further problems.

In the meantime, we are focusing all of our efforts on shipping and processing as many orders per day as possible - thousands of Zone 3 are done, and Zones 1 and 2 are simply waiting to be loaded onto their respective ships.

Right now, I have a fair degree of confidence that I may be able to make an Update Monday or Tuesday.

I will clarify the confusion about Canada Shipping notices in that Update, and am not authorized to say anything further at this time.  And to answer Smokestack, Yes, we really would get in trouble for speaking without permission. I may have slightly more leeway than she does, but I'm not willing to risk it.

"Zones 1 and 2 are simply waiting to be loaded onto their respective ships"

Is it my time to throw a temper tantrum now? I thought my stuff was already on a ship to Europe, not waiting. But you know what? I don't feel like throwing a temper tantrum about that. It will get here. It will be an awesome pool of 20 miniatures. I think Reaper is doing everything they can and they are only humans and have a right to a weekend, too. And there is no way I will forget that they managed to get Europe-friendly shipping for us (i.e. no customs fees).

I really hope that after the headaches Bones III caused for them, the Reaper folks are up to Bones IV this year because I need my fix again. If I could, I'd show my appreciation for what Bryan, LadyStorm and the rest of the folks are doing by inviting them to a glass of fine Single Malt, but it's a bit far away form me (and as Beagle would say, as colonials they might not have a taste for the finer things coming from Great Britain ... Scotland to be more precise).

More seriously: Some Kickstarters have a tip jar in their pledge managers to allow folks to show their appreciation. Granted, we would have to give the tip before we get the product, but I feel some companies can be trusted to deliver and I also think Reaper is one of them.

@Reaperbryan - thank you.  That's the kind of thing we were looking for.

To be fair, the last we heard, 1 was on a palettes and 2 was on queue.

Bryan - I like you

I can echo that sentiment.

I think what people needs to understand is that Reaper, especially Reaperbryan and all the other faces of the company, are happy to give us as much information as possible. But the thing is, the decision to do so is sometimes out of their hands. We have to understand that there are a lot of factors working behind the scenes that we're not privy to, but are still essential to the operation of the Kickstarter and the company in general. As much as we see them as our friends, they're also employees that have obligations to the company and giving information out too early can not only get them reprimanded or fired, but also compromise the company's endeavours and hurt things in the long run. They will most certainly tell us everything we need to know when they are able to, but there is a time and place for everything. I can only counsel patience and to have some faith that they know what they're doing and are working hard to help us, not hinder us. After all, that is the absolute focus of their jobs.

Bryan...I don't care for that kind of language.  Broccoli is good for you...especially with cheese.  There is no need to take it out on broccoli...
