Is anybody else seeing painting up T'rauk as Bahamut now?

That's a great idea. T'raukzul was so big, when I was first looking through the box I thought it was Ma'al Drakar in the bag until I found Ma'al's box and had to go back for a closer look.

I was dragon deficient and I needed a few for the GDQ series, I picked up all the dragons  except for Ma'al and Stormwing. I believe the poses for T'rock and Storm were about the same.

T'Raukzul and Stormwing are radically different in size. Stormwing is the same size as many of the other Reaper dragons from the late 2000's (Ebonwrath, Deathsleet, Diabolus, etc), while T'Rauzul exceeds the size of even the old large boxed dragons they did (Marthrangul, Viridius, and the like). Stormwing also has the physical characteristics (in D&D terms) of a blue dragon, while T'Raukzul takes after a red.

The good news is you'll be able to get Stormwing later anyway, if you want him, and at a far better price than what T'Raukzul will cost you in retail... :;):

That was exactly what I was talking about.  I wasn't sure what he was.  I'm not real up to date on D&D beasts (I looked it up though so I am learning).  I don't play or know much about gaming I just like to paint.

Thanks!

Its all good. Sorry that I can be a "monster nazi" (it's like a grammar nazi but only with monsters.) I have been playing D&D for a long time, and I really like monsters. So seeing a particular monster called a different name triggers my geek OCD and then the next thing I know I'm pushing up my glasses and saying "Um, actually, their correct name is behir. They were 1st seen in the module S4 lost caverns of tosojcath, and then appeared in monster manual 2. Blah blah blah."

Sorry about that, but sometimes I get a little too excited and can't help myself.

I went and picked up my box from my parents' house this morning.

I ordered 2 Ma'al Drakars and wouldn't have been upset if I wouldn't have gotten a retail box....buuuuut I'm happy that I did get one! :bday:

Mostly, I wanted to say that I am VERY impressed with the new Bones material! Things aren't as bendy and the details are WAY more crisp. As someone who is solely a painter and not a gamer, I'm really, really thrilled with this level up in Bones quality. I see a lot less boiling and frustration in my future and I'm really looking forward to getting some of these smaller figures painted up rather than just considering them practice figures or conversion fodder. Thank you, Reaper!

My Stormwing is giong to be silver, and my T'ruak is going to use the magma dragon color scheme that i used to paint Narthrax for a friend

Right; I did not intend to imply any dragon *has* to be painted a specific color. I have a HWSNBN (WotC black) that is painted as a blue, a RAFM dream dragon that is painted as a shadow dragon, my Gauth is brown, and my Blightfang looks like a rattlesnake. ::D:

All of the challenges, save one, are the biggest item of their respective kickstarter.  Khanjira is the only exception.  Others might appear in OneBoot's challenges at her discretion, but all other 7-days outside Khanjira will be whatever the most evil big creature-thing is in a kickstarter.  As future Bones may feature large sets without creatures, since we never know what Reaper has planned, it could be theoretically possible a kickstarter may yield no eligible pieces - or even that Ma'al Drakar winds up being the last.

*Note- in Bones 2, while Dragons Don't Share 2 is the biggest set, Khanjira is actually the biggest single creature.

That makes sense. Just didn't know if it was strictly "Biggest KS" piece or "Really big pieces"

Looking at the kickstarter I see that there was no figure placed near T'rock for scale. He was $20 though which was more than the other dragons (except for Ma'al). I didn't just miss Stormwing, I decided not to get him at the time. Shoulda, woulda, coulda, but he is a regret.

No time for the usual, since I need to head to work.  There are timed early birds, if you want to save a few $$.

Sod all to do with gaming, but I know we've got cat people with their own voids at home; and some of you might be into pins and need a Void of Blep of your own.
Or.. heck, I'unno. Maybe you need void stickers or something.

      Hi chums!

This is the latest Kickstarter project, expanding our fantasy range this time, and bringing light to the ones we have that might not have been noticed. Along with some super cool female minis, we have some brand new scenics too, and a whole bunch of add on bundles.
I'll post more on the lead up, but for now if you're interested, could you click the "notify me" on the pre launch page and it will help the algorithms, and you know algorithms are the new gods!
