Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

Paint day with bother daughter and wife!  The daughter finished up her pillars from Graveyard expansion and then started on one of the pumpkin headed guys.  The wife chose the wrath(?) from that expansion and the plants from Stoneskull.  she did not finish before it was time to make dinner so will need to get updated pics later.  I finished the casket with shield and sword on it and started on the carrion worm.  I went with green liner instead of brown and it looks cool as is but applied some purple to it as a start to see how it would look.  Fun times and a great job by both of them.

I don't think Kythrixis would fit on a Large base, he/she is at least Huge. Comparing the figure to Huge figures from the D&D prepaints, he definitely fits in better with them than with Larges. I think you might be hard pressed to call him Gargantuan, though.

Thanks for these images. That Iron Golem is bigger than expected, but the behir looks smaller than anticipated.

Large creatures occupy a 2" space, while huge use a 3" base. Truth be told, I was hoping he'd work on a 4" base as a gargantuan dragon, but it was hard to tell in the previews. His price point was close enough to other big dragons like Narthrax, so I assumed he'd be comparable in size.

Here is the pathfinder large red, huge red and gargantuan blue. The new dragons are pretty big.

Holy cow! You guys are killing it! I especially like the wraith and the pillars. Pumpkin head is also turning out pretty cool.

So Kyphrixes will definitely fir on a 3 inch base. It would look a bit small on a 4 inch. Marthrangul is at least 4 inch. But I may get a GW knight titan oval base for him. Lavarath could fit on a 2 inch if you don't attach the bones base, 3 inch if you shave down the base slightly, though I May put her on a 4 inch since she was going to be the center piece/leader of an all girl shield maiden army, but looks a bit small compared to the ice bears.

I didn't get most of the dragons as the looked too large to get any use out of in my pathfinder game. I did not thing Marth was going to be that big... Now She has moved to being a rival for my Big bad Blue dragon queen in my game.

Kyphrixis looks to be almost as big as Narthrax, much larger than the Pathfinder Huge Red, and the base look like it might be just a bit bigger than a 3" base on its own. Cool. I'll probably use it as a gargantuan, then. Was already going to make it a white, so if it's a bit smaller than the gargantuan red, that's not the end of the world.

Speaking as someone who is spending the weekend in close proximity to ReaperBryan at PaizoCon, I'm giving a +1, +2, + 3 to Ladystorms sentiment.

Just because the restaurant is playing "The Safety Dance" , it does NOT mean you have to dance and sing along.

But:  Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance,
Well they're no friends of mine.

I'm looking at my order, and wondering why I got I got three pieces of paint set b.

It doesn't contain anything I believe I'll use in those numbers. Neither of the dragons adjacent to that to that item in the listings are things I'd want multiples of.

I picked up my massive crate of miniatures at the border today, and managed a cursory look through the contents before I had to head outside to get some work done before it started raining.  Xanadu!  I'd actually forgotten just how much I'd pledged for - sorting through it all is going to take me a while.

The crusaders are a great looking group, I like that they share an emblem with Sir Forscale. I hadn't really noticed that when I ordered them.

That emblem is the faction symbol of the Crusaders faction, from the Warlord game... Long before he was "Sir Forscale", "Garrick the Bold", or even "Good Human Warrior", he was just another grunt in the army - the metal version of Sir Forscale has been available as part of the 06107: Templar Knights Crusaders Grunt nine-pack since 2007...

 FTFY

I'm going to have to make a concerted effort this week to reorganize my stuff more efficiently - everything: paints, minis, bitz, basing materials, bases, storage - since I've got some metal coming in soon as well as the little bit I got from the Bones KS, and most of the KS tab went toward the two paint sets so that's quite a few more bottles to find space for...

Canadian, Wave 3. Waiting on my email. I guess it is safe to say I am in the group that is not receiving an email. I suppose that should mean that mine might be here really soon with no notification, since I am almost a stone's throw outside Calgary.

EeeeeeeEEE it's probably still coming!

I have been very tempted to buy his brothers and make a Forscale platoon.

El Dorado is a wildly underrated film.

The larger the object in question is the funnier a Sir Forscale looks next to it

I use Sir Forscale for all my scale needs, now. He has found his way into almost all of the pics I have taken of Kickstarters arriving from other companies...even if not gaming related.

oh the agony!  My package is IN my town, cruelly trapped at the local UPS hub... which is closed today so I can't go pick it up.  Sigh.  Must...practice...patience.

Say it again, Corporea: Patience is a virtue.

Not right now it isn't!!!

I was at a Con this weekend and my Bones were due to arrive Friday. I made arrangements for someone to get them off my doorstep. I had to cancel that arrangement when I received an email in the late afternoon that it wouldn't arrive until Tuesday :(
