Reaper Bones 3: Post-Kickstarter Discussion

Recommended Posts

Wow that is  sure a roundabout way to get a peek at KSIV minis, ship yourself with the wrong address to get returned to Reaper. I would try it, but from Japan I'd likely die in the box.

I could hide in the air ducts and wait it out in Reaper, HQ, but I run the risk of going through the territory of xenomorphs and goblins who have already staked a claim there.

I am extremely happy that I got my pledge today! Absolutely no customs charges either, so I want to give a huge thank you to Reaper for doing the changes to make this possible. Now to ogle my preciouses!!!!!!

I dunno.  It isn't exactly polychromatic,  is it?

My thoughts precisely. . .

Have fun with your new toys, P.  All will be polychromatic eventually.

I must say I'm digging the StarCraft vibe from the corsair.  If I hadn't fallen so in love with the oni, I'd be sorely tempted to try painting one first.

And the iron golem is also on the list because I have a specific technique to use on it that I haven't seen anyone else use for a long time >.>

Quick question to the folks at home: Is Kyra supposed to be in the same bag as Lavarath?

Yes. She is sitting on the saddle and it all connects to the dragon.

I did no paitning today. Went up to Winstar in OK and played in a bounty poker tournament.  I never could knock anyone out for their $100 bounty but I did cash at 13th place.  Not much to take home but it was fun...minus the 1 1/2 drive there and again on the way back.  Painting will resume next weekend when the niece is here to join us.

My package has been 'on the road' since Friday, hmph. How long does it take to drive from Texas to Arizona? We made it in 2 days with a moving van!

I just figured if it had stopped somewhere, the tracking would show it xD but it's next 'scheduled update' is on wednesday by end of day, with a delivery still estimated for Thursday

Kyra and the saddle are missing, then. Must remember to keep it aside until after they send the update about replacements.

My Bones arrived today and all I have to say is thank Cthulu for Bonesium.

My box looked like it had been drop-kicked across a room then hit with a bat.

The Kickstarter boxes are destroyed but the only damage was detaching one sword from the weapon sprue and a bit of bending on another weapon.  Metal or hard plastic I would have needed a drink or two before opening it.

Got my shipment today, all 10 pounds of it.  The only oopsie i have is that Reaper sent me Ogre Command instead of the Ogres (3) addon.  So will have to straighten that out in a few weeks.

Tianot is ridiculous.  I mean s/he's amazing but just so large I had to laugh.  I hope one day to get it painted but I have such a backlog of 'big' mini's (dds2, kaladrax, nethyrmaul, kanjira...) that its going to be years.  Still, there was no way I was going to NOT get it.  Maybe I'll bump it to the front of the 'big mini' line, who knows...

Lets see what else... the giants (frost, fire) are great.  Really like the sculpts but was a bit non-plussed that they are made of the softer, rubber bones material that I really dont like.  The fire giant swords were bent to hell but straightened nicely with the boiling/ice water trick, but because the bonesium is so soft i'm a little worried they will bend back again.  Anyways, casts are great, material not so much.

Dagon is fantastic.  Really happy I got him.  Goremaw also awesome.  Marthgaluar is also really cool.  Much larger than I expected.  Kyra and Lavath is pretty good.  Kyra actually turned out reasonably well.  I was expecting a mess to be honest because she's so small and typically that is bad news for bones but she actually turned out not too bad.  I dont think there will be too much of an issue painting her up.

My favorite though (well ok, CO-favorite along with Tianot) is the froghemoth. Sooooooo happy I got him even though the pencil drawing left much to be desired.  He just looks awesome and has a great heft to him.  Added bonus that he will likely not be too difficult to paint up nicely.  Love love love him.

The monthly mini for June is announced! That's a cute dragon. I wonder what I could get for $40 that would make sense after having just gotten Bones 3...

Oh, right. 11 13 bottles of Brown Liner would do the trick.

They're a little cheaper than I remembered!

      EDIT: It's live! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oathsworn/oathsworn-burrows-and-badgers-anthro-miniatures-mouse-dog-cat

We love miniatures. We love tabletop games. We love anthropomorphic animals, from Disney's Robin Hood through The Wind in the Willows to Brian Jaques' Redwall books. So we combined the things we love in our Burrows & Badgers tabletop skirmish game and the accompanying range of miniatures. And our Kickstarter backers have already helped us to grow the range to over 100 miniatures - but now it's time to add some more!

      Some miniatures from previous projects...

Why are we making more miniatures?
Because we want more characters for our Burrows & Badgers games – my Freebeast warband needs reinforcements, for a start!
And we know a lot of other people are looking for more anthropomorphic animal miniatures too. A lot of people are playing Burrows & Badgers now, and many of them have asked for Massive Hounds and a Massive Raptor, so we've sculpted them! Some will want to use them for other tabletop or roleplaying games, while others love painting miniatures, and our figures are perfect for that, full of character ready to be brought to life with your paintbrush....
And some people just love collecting miniatures; again, we've made this new set of Burrows & Badgers figures perfect for collectors. They are all single piece models, with integral bases, so there are no fiddly parts to be glued on.
We love making miniatures; we hope you'll love our miniatures too.

      Why we need your help...
We've got 17 new miniatures sculpted, but they need to have moulds made before we can start producing the miniatures. And that's why we need funding; to get the production moulds made, and get the casting process started.

      About the miniatures...
There are other ranges of anthropomorphic animal miniatures out there, but ours are a little different. We didn't want all the races of animals to be the same size. Instead, we've scaled them to each other; so a shrew or a mouse is a very small model, about 20mm tall, and a really big animal like a badger will stand about 50mm tall, for example.
Each sculpted figure shown below has a scale picture with it, showing its height in millimetres. All our models are supplied unpainted.

      The Pledges
We’re keeping it as simple as possible; there’s an ‘All-in’ pledge, which gets you all the new miniatures in this Kickstarter, and any bonus bits that may come along… there’s also a ‘Pick’n’Mix’ Pledge, if you just want to get a few of the new miniatures. For the Pick'n'Mix, just total up the prices of all the miniatures you want, and pledge for that amount. There's a minimum pledge of £10. There's only six of the sculpts shown so far, but expect more to be added regularly... I'll probably add two or three a day!

      ^Minimum of £10

      Pledge Level: The Great £40

      Pledge Level: The Small £64

      Pledge Level: All In £99

Found this on kickstarter, seems a very useful handle, the idea of the ring is super and  I find that the way it turn upside-down it's brilliant!

Maybe the shipping for EU it's a bit too hight considering it ship from UK... but at least it is not overpriced.

I'm in for the early basic :)

Morana, 75 mm Morana was once a champion of the sacred order of the Radiant Fist. During a mission, the dark wizard Shahrivar cast a curse over her and traped her soul in a gem. Since then his body has become the wizard´s tool, bringing death and disease wherever she goes.
Akanksha, 75 mm Heiress to the throne of Shin Kingdom was always known for her diplomatic skills and her sword mastery. In one of her many diplomatic meetings, she received as a gift a pendant in the shape of a heart and, since then, there has been no desire which have refused or a lover that have rejected. It must be said that the tensions between the neighbouring kingdoms are more relaxed than ever.
Najwa, 75 mm  At another time, Najwa was the high priestess in the Sharated Temple. The Great Tremorrevealed an ancient buried room in the depths of the temple that contained writings from a thousand years ago. She was the first to study them and learned dark and forbidden knowledge which poisoned her body and soul. The high wizard Lucianus tried to save her but it was too late, she destroyed the temple and was lost in the night.
Here you can see a comparative image of the projected height for the miniatures in both versions. Has you can see, the 75 mm scale will offer an excellent miniature for your shelf and the 32 mm scale will fit in any boardgame and wargames that you can imagine.
In adition, some parts have been changed from the 75 mm scale to the 32 mm scale to avoid too small details and give the best painting experience.
Here you can see the reward levels offered in this campaign. You can find the full information about every offer in the reward list of the campaign and, if you have any doubt, don´t hesitate to ask.
Here you can see the stretch goals that are planned for this campaign and they correspond to new extra characters that will be fully revealed during the campaign. When we reach the corresponding objective, their miniatures in both versions will be added to the available Add-Ons.  All those who opt for the Fallen Maidens reward may access to a special offer of these characters.
Although only tree Strech goals are scheduled, I would add new characters in case the campaign reached higher goals. If this happens I will consider your suggestions to create new characters that captivate you.
The add-ons are additional items you may be interested in adding to the rewards that correspond to your pledge level. To include an add-on, simply add its specified value in € to the amount of your pledge.
When the campaign ends you will receive the backer survey where you will be able to specify which add-ons you want to include.
Here you will find the available fantasy football products. If you missed the Asgard´s Sons campaign, this is your chance to get them and obtain exclusive characters.
All shipping will be delivered by ordinary postal mail. How is it possible that there is a great disparity in the size of the packages, the shipping costs will be calculated according to each order to be fair. When the campaign ends and once the survey is done, the backers will be contacted to collect the shipping costs through Paypal just before sending each order. We can not ship to PO Boxes.
If you come to Pamplona to pick up your order you will save these expenses and we can also meet in person!
So you can get an idea of how much these costs will be, here you have a list of the estimated value of the shipments.
I will do my best to keep these cost to the minimum possible. The shipping is planned to begin in March 2020. However, depending on the production requirements, it might change.
For those who opt for the Add-Ons level, it is possible that they receive their rewards sooner, It will depend if I have already available what they want to purchase or it must be manufactured.
Further information will be posted on the updates of this project.
The master model of every miniature will be printed by 3DA Impresiones, a company that specializes in prototype.
The resin miniatures will be manufactured by GRX Creations known by his high quality.
      Risks and challenges
All designs are not a final product and can suffer changes during the manufacturing process.
Due to production requirements, the planned date to begin the shipping process might be changed due to the amount of the pieces needed and other factors out of my control. However, I will keep you updated on any changes.
If you do not accept the terms of the campaign, please do not pledge on this project but instead wait for the general release.
